The foam will make a huge difference to the soundtrack of the car! Ha.
I'm looking forward to the updates after next Saturday; a caliber of car not seen in this thread yet.
It takes a special breed of non-sport that can get 2 pages into a "show and shine" thread without getting the "looking great, just needs a RS grill, cup spoiler and sport interior" comment. Good effort. The car looks great. I almost went for a dci 100 and it has been an itch ever since.
You're not going to get any love for those wheels on here. Get your flame-suit on.
Everything else is looking absolutely fantastic. Love the carbon. Its crying for coilovers but you're on to that. Aaand maybe some new wheels ;)
Have you got a leaky sunroof by any chance? I think I spot the old...
A speaker!? What on earth for? How big is it?
I'm tempted to put a spare piezo across it and see if it makes any noise. Now that you say it, it is a near identical connector to the speaker connectors.
AlexW you'll probably know the answer to this straight away :)
Does anyone know what this connector does/is for? The trim piece below my climate control came loose and then this popped out. I thought 172 non-cups had every option in the centre console. Am I missing something?
The wires are brown and blue.
More mods underway. I recently upgraded to the Cabasse headunit for numerous reasons; improved sound quality whilst looking OEM but mainly to free up the CD changer socket, get an aux adapter and do the MCM airplay mod. Whilst they make it removable and plug into the cigarette lighter I plan to...
Cheers!
Realistically tyres and tracking next. Long term Recaros (I'm 5th in the queue for yours right?! Ha) and possibly ITBs. Oh and a cup spoiler if I ever find one in Monaco.
Finally a good update.
I've been stockpiling a load of parts for a while now with the intention of spending a weekend fitting them. That weekend was last weekend. With the help of a good friend (Tom, whose mkv gti features in the photos) the list of parts fitted is as follows:
LED interior...
Door cards out; remove bolt from inside interior handle, one inside the handle with the window controls and 3 along the bottom. Then its just clips that pop off when pulled in an outward & upward motion.
The fabric just pops off the doorcard. Retrimming is easy and will be as good a job as you...
From what I can see in the picture it looks like you've got the standard air feeds in there. Well at least one of them anyway.
[edit] pretty sure I can see the second one too. If so you just need the airbox and a filter.
I have a theory about this based on a few examples I've worked with but please bare in mind its only a theory. Lowering springs for clios are typically sold as for non-sports (i.e. will fit all 1.2,.1.4,1.6,1.5 Dci) or for sport (172, etc). Now there is a significant difference in weight across...
You should check your colour code. It might be the same silver as a sport which comes with colour coded handles as standard. I'm sure you could pick them up for a few pound. Same with the gearknob insert, silver on all sports. Might be able to pick up the spoiler too.
Bumper is literally 4...
Sure can. In general, clios dismantle pretty easily. Especially if you're colour coding the plastics, its way easier to take the parts off than worry about masking
This. This group of mates in particular and I have started to stockpile mods for when we meet. we live at opposite ends of the country so opportunities like the tractor workshop are rare.
+1! He managed to source a set of 5 with good matching premium tyres for £120, cheaper than 4 new tyres for his steal wheels. Probably as cheap as BBS wheels get. The offset makes them sit nice and wide an they're reasonably light too. I'd happily run them as winter wheels or something.
Just realised I wrote that weird. To clarify; I picked up a set of seats and doorcards for £150, I sourced a mate a mint set of just the seats for £100 which is all you'll need.
Context: Some mate's and I surprised another mate with a 172 interior, fogs and a new bumper for low & slow 5 door. We pulled a few strings and secured a farm tractor workshop with ample tools and heating (major plus in November in Scotland!). We also had some decent sound gear (decks, etc.) and...
