Hi all,
Does anyone in Belfast area or wider know a garage/mechanic that could do a bit of work for me on my 172 cup please?
I am in need of changing a starter motor, and could maybe do with looking at a dephaser cambelt change to keep her sweet!
Thanks
Knocking could also be an engine mount? I had a loose mount, the one under the battery? And that kept knocking. Remove the battery and move the engine by hand back and forward and see?
didn't take you long to decide to do them fella!
Fair play, looking good, when I did mine I remember when you do the black paint to redo every 15-20 minutes when it's still tacky-ish. Good luck, I'll have to see the finished product in the flesh.
Do you know dan, it's amazing what some people are doing these days to botch a job. I have honestly had a trying time with my car, mainly because of botch jobs from the previous owner who apparently used his mechanic in the garage he owned to service fix etc. If I were him I would shoot the...
Just to confirm, I mean the black plastic surroundING the sender unit and not the cover under the seat. I have that one off, and can see the fuel sender unit, but just can't work off the black surround.
Ok, am I just being stupid, I need to replace the fuel tank sender unit, the one under the black plastic cover, but can't seem to get the black surround off that holds it in place.
Does the black surround on the unit just screw off anti clockwise or do you prise it off. Just don't want to break...
Oh, and during the week resprayed the wheels ford graphite grey. Pretty pleased and much better than the white the previous owner did them. Nightmare to keep clean.
Had an annoying metal on metal sound on moving off and had a hint it was the passenger side mount.
Lifted the battery and yo ho the bolts where needing tightened, as they were not tight at all and hey presto it's sorted.
Also had drivers seat belt which kept locking and eventually it wouldn't...
Hi mark, still reading the blog fella, bit of bad luck with the wiring loom. I feel your frustration, I still have an airbag/ serv lights of doom as well and was in frustration nearly going to cut the wires but glad I didn't having read this. Hope you get back to it soon and hope things don't...
Have you ever lost the will to live McGherkin, If you have you'll understand!! Forgive me in my haste of writing, what I meant was seat belts are both the same height so I presume they have not fired?? Going to go to an auto spark tomorrow. For some reason I trust him more than leaving it to...
Ok, so then it looks like I'm burdened with a car that needs to go to renault or a very good auto electrician. The story is, the previous owner had a shunt but didn't knock out airbags, but airbag light and serv light on and seat belt pre-tenseniors all open circuits and also rear seat belts as...
Good point Mcgherkin, but just trying to save a few pounds to be honest, renault is £85 per hour….. There is no reason for me to put the car right when it's going to be tracked. Rather spend money on aftermarket stuff that makes it go quicker. It's a 13 year old car now and I have another car...
Ok Danny heres what I'm at. The airbag light is constantly on. I want to use the car as a track car but need it roadworthy to get it up to the track but can't get the car through mot without getting the airbag light to switch on and off. Now instead of me spending hundreds on a car that is...
