the electric rack off the 1.2 weighs alot lesst than any of the other racks, you electric power steering is located on the steering column now the rack anyway, so if you want to save weight you have to get a sport steering column, very pointless tho

Yeah we have done alot since then rob. I cant wait to drive it now, i had a smile on my face for most of yday when it started up lol
The induction kit should affect the idle..... Great way to start and you got that at a bargin price, just buy a decent set of lowering spring not a cheap set of coilovers.

Cheers thanks alot. The engine is running perfect, left it running for about half an hour today and it was fine, Got loads left to sort out still. But its getting there now one step at a time

Yep... Feet are snapped off it so it wont sit in the subframe..
Already got the new one, its already got a cutout in it. The current one will be for sale when the time comes...

Everything connected and ready to go. The slam panel is not being fitted yet as I am replacing the radiator with a different one - after the one I purchased off here was snapped off at the bottom :( Also missing a few bits for the dogbone mount so it cant be driven...

Lifting the engine in was quite tricky, took a while to get everything centered up and all engine mounts on and tightened up.
Next we got the inlet on and the ht leads all plugged in
Next was to fit the cat and the yozza exhaust...

Right didnt post anything up last night when we put the engine in so ill do it now. Once we had built the engine up, runn about to find a few more bolts, we got round to putting the flywheel, cluthc and gearbox on.
Fly wheel on, all torrqued up as per renault...

Cheers, was going to paint the rockor cover matt balck but i got persuaded to paint it matt red, it looks a million times better with the red breaking up the all the black lol.

So once the engine was togeather and the paint had set we started to time the engine up. I painted the rockor cover matt red as i didnt wat to paint everything matt black.

Looks good, should have left the standard wheels on, loose the cage or at least spray it another colour. New steering wheel will really make a difference.

As jord said, all i have done before is change coilovers, seats, topmounts ect.... never done anything to do with an engine before. Just learning as i go. Just lucky that jord knows what he is doing to guide me through it. Im really enjoying the conversion and...

Once everything was in and looked ok we ran sealant all round the top of the head so we could seal the rockor cover.
And then put the head on..... Ahh finally. Hope this doesnt have to come off any time soon lol.

Right last night we rebuilt the new head i got the other day after the one that came on the engine was F*cked. Took a while to do but will be well worth it in the long run.
we took all the valves out of the old head as some of them looked brand new and the others...

Ahhhh... another late night.
Got the head rebuilt tonight, with all new stem seals ect... Head is now back on the block and ready to be sprayed but it got abit too late to carry on.
