There's 1 or 2 parts missing:
Time spent rowing with wife about how much you've spent.
Time spent listening to wife moaning that you love that car more than her.
Not a Championship as they have specific rules but it is the Series (Tricolore Trophy nee French Trophy) that we are in yes. You would have to get your race licence etc. This is purely an opportunity of having a go without the outlay of prepping your own car.
As a form of motorsport where everybody is on a pretty even footing, then the series should do well. The cost is still pretty low as stated and I wish everybody good luck with it. I just posted the figures, because I thought that if anybody wanted to crack on with it, they may have a bit of a shock.
Without getting into any arguments, as I'm not posting this to start one. I just think that 5k is VERY optimistic. I think 6k is more realistic really, for the benefit of anyone considering this. It's cost me almost 2k to convert mine to just basic MSA regs. Cage, seat, seat mount, harness, fire...
Best way for us to try and make a conclusion, is for users to post details of their tyres - DOT codes, country made etc. Then if they're all similar (obviously the DOT codes will vary slightly) then we should be able to say whether there's any truth in the rumours.
I'm off to check mine now...
Only this thread Sonny, I didn't really bother with a build thread because it was only very mildly modified for the track days. I've got all the bits ready to be fitted. Just need to order the cage and get Fred to put everything in. All I've got to do is strip the remaining bits out of the car...
Cheers guys, taking it at Oulton probably wasn't the best choice. Trying to stay off the kerbs on the chicanes was a test in itself. However the examiner did give me two pointers that will help come raceday.
You and me both Sonny, looks like a good start of entrants but could do with some more.
For everybody else that might be interested:
There's about 15 registered entries now, another 5 or so and we could have our own races folks. German series has now been added, so BMW non M cars etc. could...
