Issue with Citreon XSara washer jets

Get them from a citroen dealer or a breaker and take them off a xsara yourself then you can be 99% sure they're genuine.

    197 rear speaker not working

Remove the grills, a small flathead screwdriver or your key in the slot at the bottom and pry them off, they're clipped in with a bigger clip at the top. Now you can see if there is any speakers underneath, if so then unscrew one with a t20 torx screwdriver and check its plugged in properly. If...

Want to replace all bulbs in my 197

Projectors are the ones that look like they have a crystal ball in them. If you have these then HID bulbs for the headlights, 6000k would be the best colour it's white with a slight tint of blue that isn't really noticeable. For dipped beams with projectors it'll be H1 fitment. For high...

Mk3 Interior Lights Help Please :)

Okay so currently I have the main light in the front of the car, but im looking to add a few lights to make it better in the dark, so my questions are as follows. Thanks in advance for any help you may give me :) LED footwell strips, I know the best place to wire these would be off the...

    Clio MK3 - Changing stereo & speakers

Connects2 sell an adaptor that makes the steering wheel controls work with an aftermarket headunit. As Dan said the screen should just display the time and temperature assuming you have the temp sensor fitted. To change the stereo you'll need stereo pins to remove the old one, then any necessary...

Issue with Citreon XSara washer jets

Mine have no rubber and work fine, might be from the wrong citroen where they're more upright

    Random find

Found a polish complication CD in mine, quite catchy to be honest.

Issue with Citreon XSara washer jets

Got them on my Mk3 and they're fine, maybe you've got given a duff set? Or some from the wrong car? Some citroen have them hidden under the bonnet at the top pointing more upright.

Are Clio 200 Gordini's always CUP packed?

Ask Adam on here from Wolverhampton Renault or ring a Renault dealership and tell them the reg, then they'll tell you for certain

    Service Time

It's a 1.2 so everything's alot cheaper, wouldn't surprise me if it could be done for 40. The oil he's looking at is ~15 with a free oil filter, air filters for my 1.2 on there are around a tenner, pollen also around a tenner, plugs are about 2.50-3, so 12 for the set. Sump plug washers...

    Service Time

It's alright, iirc it meets all the relevant requirements and is only around 15 quid for 5l at the moment. Wouldn't be rushing to put it in a brand new 200, but for a 1.2 it'll be fine as it won't be doing track days etc. Any 5w 40 or 10w40 will be fine though as long as it meets basic specs...

    Plasti-dip wheels yay or nay?

Nay, never tried it but I imagine it'll peel off and not wear very nicely. bennettxo (hope I got that right!) Plasti dipped his mk3 alloys black, could be worth sending him a PM. Edit: yeah that's right, take a look at his project thread it's a tidy car with some good mods, and Plasti...

    Service Time

Clio engine oil should be 5w 40, not 10w80 afaik. Tranself NFJ 75w80 is what Renault use to change gearbox oil and is what's in the cars when they roll out the factory. A rubber strap filter wrench I found ideal when I serviced my car last year, got it in ecp which are also doing a good deal on...

    12v Socket

Have you tried the usb adapter in another car to check it works? I assume you know the cigarette lighter in yours doesn't work because you've tried other things? Or else it could be the fuse.
  18. Ethan1996

    fuse problem

Have you checked every single fuse? Some things share other fuses, so it may not be the most obvious fuse that's blown.

What have you done to your car today ???

6000K HID kit fitted, eBay blue xenon look bulbs for cornering lights fitted, Philips bluevision fitted for high beams, 13 SMD sidelights which were there already. While bumper was off gave it a bit of a clean, took the top grills out, sanded them slightly to rough the surface, 3 coats of...

    Urgent HID help!

Ah cheers, found a thread about it on clio 197 as well talking about it, I wonder why there's red and black on one? Thought it'd just be a case of a red wire and a black wire :s
  21. Ethan1996

    Urgent HID help!

is that right? With the black wire of the HID ballast going to the plug with two cables, black and red, and the red wire from the hid ballast going to the red cable on its own? I know, not strictly urgent and probably a simple question but ive got work at 3 and its beginning to rain! :( McGherkin
  22. Ethan1996

Will it be repaired or written off?

Could be worth a mention then, if you're insurers aren't going to fix it might just be because he's trying to sort it so he can have a track car cheap!
  23. Ethan1996

    Quick HID question

It's alright, when they run head on into him it doesn't matter it's free for all remember so it'll be free to get his car fixed
  24. Ethan1996

    Quick HID question

You're totally right, free for all, who needs car insurance for when you accidently hit that small child, because after all its "free for all" isn't it, who needs to pay road tax because obviously it's free for all, so it's also free for highways to tarmac roads and mend potholes (albeit...

Wiper motors - unlucky or a bigger issue?

Ah the bit that connects the motor to the wiper arms? Alright ill take a look at that tommorow morning/tonight and see if I can clean it up and grease it, hopefully that'll fix the issue! Thanks for that :)
  28. Ethan1996

Wiper motors - unlucky or a bigger issue?

The mech? Which bits that? The bit with all the gears etc in, or the linkage that connects it to the motor?
  29. Ethan1996

Wiper motors - unlucky or a bigger issue?

So, theoretically, if I get a brand new one and keep an eye on the drains etc it should never break/almost never apart from usual wear and tear? This is the second im on and I've always cleaned the drains every month or so just in case and it's never been flooded. As i say though, it was a...

Wiper motors - unlucky or a bigger issue?

Ah, could it be the link mechanism then? I've just read a massive post on renault forums about it where there's hundreds of users complaining there should be a wiper motor recall! The joys of owning a Renault sometimes...
