Ran my cable from the boot under the door sill plastics. New hole and grommet through the passenger well (ft wheel and arch plastics removed) up under the washer tank (wipers removed) and into the fuse area. 25mm2 automotive cable.

Removed instrument cluster to get at the highly annoying over speed alarm. This comes on at around 120km/h. Culprit was a little piezo hidden behind the rear. As shown.

removed dash (pretty easy thanks to the guide here) and the sticky rubbish plastic surrounds around the heater controls, centre plastic surround (had to cut the heat sealed bits away) - ready for paint.
Fitted Pure Motorsport aircon delete kits months ago. Finally got around to removing the aircon heater coil under the skuttle. What a ball ache. Figured out you have to remove this panel in the firewall, the engine intake casting (with coil pack) and that the two nuts holding the inner...
Let the monster induction roar out and fit a pod filter. (Top of air box off. Panel out. Pod and silicone straight extension inside the bottom section of the air box. Makes it easy to revert back).
hi I have a bog standard 172. The Cat can be removed here in NZ. . .any advice on performance improvements if I remove it? Not too worried about more noise. Nice work above by Ben too!
interesting tests from NZ. . . . http://www.aa.co.nz/membership/aa-directions/driver/fuel-duel-2/
effing fuel co.s and their marketing! we have Mobil (Esso in UK) and Gull here in NZ and they have 98RON but it has methanol in it. I dont think you get that in Europe??? Cant remember from my...
running 205 45 16 Toyo T1Rs here in NZ. Grip like mad in the dry. Not sure about how many miles they will do. Edge wear seems a bit excessive but then they do take a trashing on twisty rough roads. No track usage.
hi, I have a 2004 p2 RS (169/172) with the original exhaust system (1 tail pipe). I am in NZ and we don't test for Cat converters here. As such is it worth ripping the Cat out and straight piping it? I would have thought the Cat sensors would go nuts and cause a problem though ? Looking for...
hey chaps. Fellow kiwi here. I live in PNTH and thrash my 2004 RS phase2 35km or so over to Pahiatua daily. Picked the car up cheap for this work contract I have - 130k on the clock for $4k . . . but put a new timing belt in it recently ($900). Thinking about a superchip and performance...
Hey Needlefest did you get this sorted? My Clio2ph2 sport went into limp mode for the first time today. Turned it off and on again and it seems ok but will test later today and check the wiring if it comes back.
Side - is not replaceable. I have just had mine out again. The boot is swaged (end of the boot is crimped between the cylinder and an inner metal ring) into the metal cylinder at the factory and cannot be replaced with like for like. In the UK it makes sense to get a complete shaft second...
nice one Bloke. Cheers. Did you fit it ok? I am assuming that the boot has an interference fit with that metal canister with a rubber rib or something so it just squeezes in??
hi, I have a phase2 - 2004. Inner boot is toast. Renault NZ cant confirm which boot, but reading everything here it sounds like a new boot isnt possible. I am not that keen on a new or used shaft from the UK as the freight is plenty. Has anyone recently found a boot for these? Its the inner...
thanks team - 1 exhaust! Just had a new timing belt put in. Its going like a rocket, very hard to stay legal. As we dont require Cat Converters here in NZ I was toying with the idea or removing them and remapping the O2 sensors but from what I read here it probably isnt worth it. Cheers
hi, have only just bought one of these ClioRS. Love it. Its a CB15, 2003.
Does that make it a 172? Any help appreciated. This car came to NZ via Singapore.
Hi, maybe someone can help me. I have a 2003 Sport - non sat nav. It has an annoying alarm that sounds at around 120km/h. Is there a DIY fix or is it a dealer/auto electrician job? I cant seem to reset this via the normal onboard functions controlled from the end of the control wand. Cheers...
