Perfect, many thanks!
I can see where I was going wrong now (I was trying to fit it over the top lip but I can now see it goes beneath the first lip)

Hi all
just wondering if anyone could post up a photo of a 182 Xenon headlight from the rear, with the rubber cap also in place.
I'm having trouble getting the caps on mine seated and a pic would help me locate them correctly

New bulbs fitted and all is now well :-)
Bumper didn't have to come off. I couldn't get my hands in the gaps but my tame mechanic has little hands so he did them in ten minutes.
have a look in this thread....

Why not agree to pay ONLY if it fixes the issue. If not, they suck up the cost themselves and try another option.
That'll make them think a bit harder before doing guess work fixes
Yeah, I used the spray can.
Difficult to describe how thick it comes out. Probably better to say that you can modulate the coverage depending on how close you spray and the speed you move the can across the item being sprayed.
My first go was too close and too slow so it layered on really thick...
This weekend I used plastidip to spray my front and rear diamonds.
Quite happy with the result, but with hindsight I should have gone with lighter coats for a smoother finish.
May peel it off and do it again when weather permits.
I may also have a go at spraying the rear badges too.
Worst case...
Hmmm, oddly enough the light came back on this evening but with a noticeable pinkish hue to it.
Fingers crossed it is just the bulb that's on the way out. Suppose I'll find out next week when the new bulbs arrive
From my point of view I disagree.
So, you lay out a bit of cash to get the belts done, but you increase the price of the car accordingly and you then have a car thats going to sell much quicker than those that need belts doing.
if its got some niggles that don't cost much to fix, then fix them.
Add the cost of the fix to your asking price if you like, but a car with 'simple to fix issues' that haven't been addressed will raise suspicions in some people that theres more to it. If the niggles are fixed, you can show this...
Ordered a pair of 5000k.
Even if it turns out that the problem is with a ballast, I'm happy to have new bulbs as the old two were a little mismatched on colour.
Fingers crossed its just a bulb thats blown
Sounds like a plan.
Out of interest, once I find out if it is the bulb, ballast etc etc where do you recommend replacements to come from?
Dealers will no doubt be top dollar. Halfords? Ebay?

Hi all
my nearside Xenon stopped working this morning (182).
I had a quick look under the bonnet and found that the rubber cap at the back of the light unit had come adrift and there were signs of water on the bits beneath.
From what I read after searching on here, it could be a bulb, ballast or...
Rodg, go to a different dealer.
When I went to my local dealer to get a lock mechanism for the hatchback, I casually enquired about replacement stickers for my front bumper and he pull up the parts catalogue on his screen that covered external trim and stickers. They were all there, for every...
if you don't have the double exhaust, its not a 182.
Have a look at the following model guide and let us know what you actually have. (Pics would be good too)

Alternatively, post up the reg number and I'll check the...
