Coming out of Moncktons Lane, 172 cup on grey turinis and lowered, lady in the passenger seat. Didn't get a great look as I was in my own world! I was in a standard 172 cup,.
I had this. Done a lot of searching and it appears the alarm is pap. I think mine became water damaged as the siren is under the scuttle on the passenger side. Another problem is the bonnet sensor. For a quick fix I disconnected the sensor and, if you shove your head right under the glovebox...
If you end up smashing the window, put duct tape all over it before hand. Shouldn't make as much mess and might come out in one piece if you are lucky,
Mine has similar. Pops at the exhaust frequently on idle, definately not just the lumpy idle. It's going into a speciallist on here tomorrow for a cambelt and he's looking at the idle issue too, I'll let you know what's said.
Is the engine management light on/flashing? If so get a code reader on it. If you have a friend with one its ideal, however you can get cheapy ones from Argos. Mine was running on 3, code reader gave me injector fault cylinder 3, injector replaced at 80 notes, problem sorted.
You can get cheapy code readers from Argos, thats what I did and it diagnosed my fault as a shot injector, but they aren't the best of tools. However mine threw up an engine light and your saying yours hasn't. But a reader is a good way to start otherwise, as stated, you are just guessing.
Will do pal. Anyone have any thoughts? I'm thinking another injector may be at fault. However when the injector on #3 was pissing about it ran like dog shite and threw up engine lights. I suppose one could be on its way out??? I'm perplexed.
