Cheers pal, just what I’m after!
Nothing special but better than a farting OEM speaker. Direct fitment is great but I’d have to make a good connection myself!
Ok so a quick recommendation for front door speakers would be great please.
I have standard head unit and not looking to change that. My front door speakers are nackered and sound ridiculous.
Want to replace them with some cheap direct fitment aftermarket speakers and hoping to put a sub under...
I have traced the sensor back to the connection under the mirror panel.
Looks to be on pins 3 and 4, green and brown cables on the door side of the socket and measure 8.7ohm across the pins.
I am assuming the sensor is ok if there is resistance so the cable must be broken/disconnected somewhere...
Ok so I’ve just been out to check this sensor.
It is definitely there and definitely connected!
Where can I find the wiring diagram to trace the cable cable and check connections?
Cheers for the reply, that puts that one to bed then!
The sensor has been stripped and cleaned. Fan is working anyway!
I have repaired the stepper motor for temp control in the footwell and all seems well.
Only the outside temperature display to go now!
Well I do have the temp sensor showing underneath the near side mirror?
And my girlfriend had an 02 1.2 Clio, which I’m certain showed the temp on the display.
I’ll have to take the mirror apart and investigate further.
Assuming I can test the sensor by measuring resistance across it?
Cheers for the replies chaps!
I’ll just keep an eye on it then. Will be having the bumper off soon to fit the headlight washers so can check the radiator then. I’ll give it a brush and hose down, if needed!
So my temp gauge is sitting one line above half way. From reading online I think it should be on half way?
It steadily gets up to temp when driving and doesn’t fluctuate.
So any reasons why it would be sitting at this point instead of half way?
To be honest, if it isn’t obviously within the mirror connections I’ll just run a new cable.
Wasn’t even that bothered but it’s annoying now that I know it doesn’t work! 😂
The time is always displayed, it’s just the temperature that’s missing.
Must be a break in the sensor wiring. Should be fun tracing that if it’s not disconnected!
Mine shows nothing whether the radio is off or on. If a fault doesn’t show up, can I assume the sensor has been disconnected through the wing mirror or something?
Do I dare venture into the wiring of these cars...
Has anyone got a diagram (or link to) of the bootlid mechanism?
Last night I realised that mine doesn’t lock?
I have removed the trim and the solenoid moves. About 10-15mm to the left? When pressing the key fob. So assume this part is working but mechanically it’s failing somewhere?
Any...
I am trying to stop my fans blowing hot air constantly in my car. I have climate control and have read about the motors behind the console, but would like to make sure the temp sensor is working first!
Should I have one connected to this grey plug? And if so, where can I get one?
Thanks!
Should my car be showing the temperature below the clock? Assuming all Clios have this?
If the sensor in the wing mirror wasn’t working, I would think it would show a random temperature and possible fault code?
Thanks!
Great help, thanks!
I appreciate what you’re saying but having read a few reviews on induction kits vs oem intake, I’m just going to leave it and add an aftermarket filter. Want this car to be tidied up and kept standard too.
Ok so I am looking to tidy up my air intake.
I know I am missing a clip/bracket that holds the top of the filter housing to the outfeed. But what else is missing? The whole box just seems to be sitting on engine pipes and stuff, not actually fixed to anything?
Sorry for the daft question but...
Thanks again. Makes sense but not good news! Should this not have failed the MOT if a xenon headlight cannot adjust?
Seems like a common thing as I’ll be trying to repair the climate control motors at the weekend too!!
I did try calling and emailing Cit-Ren but had no response. I was under the impression they just sell and scrap cars?
I might make the trip to Engine Dynamics next time but I really just want a full service and health check now for the new motor.
