So your saying the flack vista is getting is unjustified ? Its not a case of 'spending a few quid'. Its a case of why ? when XP/Linux will do everything Vista tries to... without the few quid spent.

It makes me laugh when people say you need a modern PC. I have servers at home that would shudder and die if I installed vista on them. With linux on them they run super fast do exactly what I tell them too and never need rebooting..

Flash the Linksys with DDWRT firmare.. I was having problem with mine but after sorting it out with the custom linux version I have total control and its rock solid !
Can even alter the transmission power of the antenna's, monitor system load etc. with DDWRT...
When transferring wireless to wireless your halfing the capacity. Wired to wireless your getting full capacity.
Although that does seem particularly slow. It probably just a shitty Belkin router (I've never actually seen a good piece of Belkin kit)
