They'll be fine, I've done plenty of track miles on road tyres.

Don't know on these engines but when I used to have Rovers, it was about £400 so that does sound a bit steep. Bear in mind it will probably take them about 3-5 days to do the job as most send the head off elsewhere for skimming and testing.
