Yeah Spec 2s look a lot better than they perform. As for the road/track tyre - it's been covered far too many times and we still don't have a definitive answer. Here's a recent thread that has some for you to try as obviously what suits one, doesn't suit another...
R1Rs fit the bill perfectly. A little noisy for road use but more than adequate for the odd track day and great in the wet. If you use your road car to just do a couple of track days a year and only want one set of tyres, I would definitely recommend them. I acept they can melt a bit quickly on...
Did protyre seriously just leave it like that without offering to sort it? I wouldn't leave or pay until both sides were equal. Unless a reasonable explanation was given.
Is that how they left it? If you don't want any, then it all should read 0
Can't remember the tolerances but you have slight toe out at front which is within spec. Front left camber is a bit "iffy" and rear right toe is a bit high I think. Did you get a print out? Normally green = OK and red =...
Refresh all std components - ball joints etc. Cup shocks and Sportline/Cooksports with camber bolts. Perfectly adequate for track days and still comfortable for the road. I do roughly 12k road miles and about 10 TDs per year and more than happy with mine for both uses. Perfect compromise IMO.
About the same as drinking Coke one week, Pepsi the next and then Rola Cola the week after. That third week will be bad lol.
Difference wouldn't be noticeable really.
Sounds about right - £10 per tyre fit, £30 alignment not really needed but might as well and hour labour for the springs (it's only about 20 minutes to do but realistically most garages will charge an hour for anything they do). However, if you shop around you might get a better deal.
