Back to this question of oil from renault.
As i think i need to change the oil this weekend.
I called them today & they said i need Elf 10w 40 @ £25+vat for 5 litres. (that sound ok for a 1yr/6k oil change - in between services)
When i looked into my clio handbook just now it says:
For all...
i normally get around 38mpg when driving to & from work. (172 cup)
I got it up to around 40mpg driving to cornwall & back (180 miles each way) over the weekend
Not bad for a 2ltr surely? (how accurate are the readouts on screen?)
Mine has come on twice recently, but thats only when i park over night on the front of my drive which is a bit of a sideways angle. never had it any other time. might just need a top up.
I 'looked after' my mates M3 a year or so ago while he was on holiday, very nice car that, couldn't live with the running costs though. But very nice looking, nice to drive, fast as hell.. it was an L reg & looked like new inside & out.
He had a blue one, wanted that techno violet (that what...
i went from a pug 1.9 gti to a 1.2 16v dynamique clio & in my opinion, although it was slower, it was still a nice car to drive & i did enjoy owning it. While i had that i also drove 2 1.2 corsa's everyday at work (had them for 3 years) one was a 1.2 16v eleganace & was 'ok' it seemed about as...
Does anyone know?
When you have your 172 serviced at a renault dealer, what oil do they put in?
If it's half decent stuff do they sell it? as i want to change my oil between service intervals but don't wanna spend a fortune on some, only for it to be changed to cheaper stuff in 6k miles time.
Thats where i get a bit concerned.. it says to use minimal amounts, but then... i think, 'have i covered it all' lol
The car looks pretty shiny now, so hopefully i've done it ok :-) might go for another quick polish & EGP on the weekend though. (god what have i started now!)
if the weathers nice, i wash mine once a week, normally on a sunday. (unless i've got something else to do)
If i can't be arsed to wash the car, i at least try to make the effort & clean the brake dust off the wheels, so they don't get any worse!
1 hour min.. damn i put mine on for about 30 mins on sunday, it was a pretty warm day though, i get a bit worried about leaving these things on too long lol..
Should i get & put some more on & leave for longer??
Cheers Rich, i'll (try to) remember that for when i run out.. can't imagine i'll be claying it tooo much.
Do you 'HAVE' to polish after claying a car or can you clay it & leave it?
So when the QD has ran out i can mix up some soapy (as in, car wash type soap?) water to use instead then??
I managed to get out & wash the car today, washed, clayed, SRP & EGP
Took me hours..
very nice mate...
How do you keep those wheels soooo clean. I thought mine looked 'ok' until i saw yours :-(
black tar dots in all knooks & crannys on mine & nothing seems to shift it.
Thanks for the advice.
One more thing, after claying the car, do i just get straight on with polishing? or does it need a quick wash after?
Now i just need to get and do it lol!!
I've already talked myself out of it for today now.. got "other" things to do.
Sunday's the day :-)
I've decided to give my car a proper clean so have bought all the stuff (knowing me, i'll get bored & never actually use it though lol).
Got the water magnet thingy
clay bar
AG SRP & EGP
So i am wondering, after washing the car, do i dry it before using the clay?? or just spray that detailer...
