will 99% be a write as other have said. If they have admitted liability striaght away then the claim should be pretty straight forward!
Make sure you hire car is of similar standard, i.e. a hot hatch, not just any old supermini.
the rear bumpers where always a bit hit and miss on the old one, they are sometimes not even close on the 197. As said, nimbus and red seem to be the worse, racing blue and black seem to be not bad, with Albi accpetable.
It would drive me insane and for the cost just isnt acceptable:

Dunno whether anyone can confirm this, but it seem pretty blatant to me that 197 bumpers are not painted at the sametime as the chasis. The colour match is really bad, seems most noticable on nimbus and ultra red and liquid.
Needs sorting!!! Ive looked at a few now and the majority suffer...
for a hot hatch???? If you think the clio is expensive your in the wrong type of car mate!!! But then again if a cooperS floats your boat instead of a 172 then im probably right!!
CTR/ITR is roughly the same cost for wearable parts, except the clutch is signifcantly more expensive. (ive had a...
all the above are things that can be checked yourself if you have a reasonable amount of knowledge. rear discs and pads should be cheaper than 200 mate as well.

Just to add the engines are fairly bullet proof if serviced properly. Failure are very common. Head gasket is not common issue and neither is big end failure. The engines seem to take 200k easily and there are quite a few on 120k+ on here.
to be honest mate like most cars the wearable things need to be checked.
Couple of big things:
1. Check the cambelt has been done. 5yrs or 72k (costs around 350 specialist 550 renault)
2. Check clutch (Costs around 350)
3. service history is a much
4. Check for crash damage. Hot hatch...
I love my ph-quick. I dont think you would regret it to be honest. It is quite different to the mk2 172 and 182 (ive had both).
You do need to drive a few though and get a feel for whats a good one and whats not. I looked at 7 before settling on my current one.
turinis were not a manufactuer option. Does it have cup packs.
Id say early 6s would be around right. Bear in mind trade wise its worth probably mid to late 5s.
