Nice pictures on the track mate, got a SG myself, bit half and half on the stickers, think maybe the car needs some more contrast to pull them off like a black bonnet or something? Different is always a winner though!
Thanks for all the comments, its funny yano I'm doing that many miles in a week its become just my work horse if you like and so never really appreciated it like i did my 182 hence there being zero changes but doing the photos n the comments has changed that, already ordered some bits :)
Yeh...
Pretty simple things lined up, obviously take down the A4 size tax disc holder, H&R springs, 3/4 front plate, blank rear plate, tidy all the bulbs up, light tint all round, K-tec lip spoiler, 20mm spacers, small mudflaps then either a de-cat or the less restrictive cat i've seen knocking about...
Got a few pictures done yesterday, had the car since last june, still completely standard which is a shocker for me! Do have some bits lined up, going to be keeping an OEM theme though (few of my mates 3 series as well)...
Not been on here for ages or updated my progress thread or anything like that but thought i'd post a few pictures after a clean yesterday...
Bonnet is open as I had disconnected the battery, not because I like showing off dirty engine bays :o
A quick one coming out of trax the other week...
Was an alright show, I'm going on cliosport stand next year though, go on a stand of my mates but we always end up some where naff even though the range of cars is probably one of the best there, you men had one of the best spots bang in the centre
Agreed, I hate my k-tecs, dampening seems hard when you hit a bumpy road, throws you all over place, yet they still rub like a b**ch on corners and car isn't really silly low, so I don't see at what point they make sense
Been having handling problems of late, feels very vague at anything over 80 and as soon as the road is anything but smooth it's just pot luck what the car does.
Noticed the other day, when jacking the car up on the right hand side, the rear offside suspension creaks loudly, would this suggest...
Because it's so low, so unless they're ultra fim they'll rub constantly.
That's why I hate my k-tecs, can't throw it round a round about with constant rubbing and it isn't that low
Cheers mate, I'm familiar with the tyre issues, leaking suspension etc.. it's more like the inner track rods for example, where do I find them, how do I know if they've failed, it's that sort of stuff me and probably alot of others haven't got a clue with :\
It seems alot of folk seem to suffer with their clio's not handling correctly, pulling ways they shouldn't, floaty sensations, bouncing off the face of the earth down country roads, vibrations etc...
It also seems that 9/10 mechanics say everything looks fine when the owner knows it isn't and...
Nah it's not that sort of feeling mate, I suppose at high speed it's similiar but can tell it's something up front.
I had the other 2 wheels balanced yesterday which needed doing although it seems to have made no difference to the vibrations & handling, I asked the guy to check my lower ball...
I can hear a slight knocking now when going over some bumps, my cars that loud its hard to hear things at times...
So possible knocking, floaty steering at speed and very skitish steering wheel.. That spelling anything out?
Yup it seems so, I'm hoping it's one of the cheaper ones, wheel def isn't damaged and wasn't really hard enough to damage the subframe.
No I don't have a dif mate and the steering wheel wasn't perfectly centre to begin with as I had needed tracking doing
No mate, only at motorway speeds, no...
Well it was at NWP on saturday, had wheels off while in was in for a tyre change plus had the tracking done so reckon it would have been noticed, the side that took the knock has had a new coilover assembley fitted just to be safe so it can't be that, well I wouldn't think so anyway
No I wouldn't say so mate, although some road surfaces seem to amplify it!
This is the problem I've got, I want somebody hawk eyed to look for a problem, not just scan it and say it looks fine as I know full well there is a problem!
Had a slight bump on my near side wheel few weeks ago and car is now handling strange.
The steering wheel seems to almost jump when I hit a bump in the road as if there is some play some where and at motorway speeds feels unweighted & at around 80mph+ I get vibrations.
The wheels are all...
