Course it is :dead:, i'll get somebody to check then mate and will have a look at the plenum on saturday, what can I expect to see when I look under the rocker cover? Obvious oil leak/spraying?
If it is smoking from driving at least I know where its going, most likely going to be from that...
Well I got a full service at NWP around march time and put in the good stuff off of Opie Oils, forget the name, Sylotec or something similiar? Ran low again around July time, put in a couple of litres of halfords crap (money was tight) then got another Oil Change at NWP around September/October...
The long journeys bit is a funny one as obviously you're more likely to burn through the oil on a longer journey as you're driving the car further than you would usually so might just be mere co-incidence that the oil has flashed as low both times after a long drive.
Which is the plenum, the...
Well I have been noticing some smoking but the weather has been that cold it's hard to tell whether it's just through that, there's no black muck on the back like you might expect from an oil burner.
Yep the dipstick is reading low aswell, just below the bottom marker.
So I know it's genuinely lost oil, I know it's done it before, I'm fairly positive there isn't a leak severe enough to loose that amount of oil so it must be burning it?
Could head gasket be a cause? Is there a hundred...
I might be talking pish but as I understand it with the end pipes being so narrow better flow further up the system doesn't really have any effect, noise would be greater but can't see performance being affected (even on a larger system decat has very little effect).
Edit: De-cat inside the cabin
Got a de-catted yozza from a yozza with sports cat and it is alot louder when giving it some but i'd say driving normally i.e pottering around town they're fairly similiar.
Both stupidly loud either way :-\
There doesnt seem to be any oil in the engine bay, when I went to NWP to have the last oil change there was a small bit of oil on the underside of the car, they suggested it might be a leaking gasket (can't remember the name for the exact gasket), I was going to get it sorted there and then but...
I have previously and its been low there too, yet to check it since yesterday though, will have a look in my dinner hour.
Howcome the oil light itself doesn't come up? It just flashes low oil on the indicator and the service light shows.
I love the styling myself but I'm not sure if he's played any part in it, seems like he's just give them a bag of money and got a phone call to come pick it up, ktec get a show car for free though :P
Only had an oil change about 4 months ago, done a 5 hour round motorway trip, just got back in car and oil is flashing low.
Not the first time its done this aftera long drive, I do give it some at times but largely mid revs.
Car isn't leaking oil, what could be the reason for this?
It may...
Re: Is the ClioSport more efficient Fuel wise at higher revs?
I think that's because you've not reset it.
Mine generally sits around 33 with a bit of hammering, can see 45 on the motorway at around 65/70, some of you could do with a good service lol
What's pink and if you say the wheels I'll find out who you are and paint your car pink! Lol, its just the camera.
Will post the black up tomorrow, can't copy links on my phone.
Between these and cobra suzukas at the mo.
Buddy Club P1 Ltd Edition...
They also do them in black, do like them as not seen them often (although I know they're more of a jap seat).
My only worry is the suede effect will become shiny over time but then again the suede/alacantara of clio seats doesn't seem to so :\
Edit...
You woudnt think it had 16k spent on it, had a very quick scan (will read it tonight) while I was waiting for a mate on my dinner and it's nothing spectacular, obviously the engine work is immense though.
Would love to own it :o
Edit: Scrap what I just said, just read the write up on k-tec...
I'm buying some Buddy Club P1 Ltd Edition seats (side mounted).
Can my standard subframes be used and side mounts added?
Bit reluctant to pay £300 for the direct fit subframes if I can help it :dead:
Cheers
Nobody is going to steal the plate unless they're rolling round in a racing blue 182 with white rims so hardly gna be a prob
Love the car mate, I've been pondering over putting my side bullets back to chrome, looks a bitmore classy with coloured wheels
