Dont forget this is a garage doing the work. To comapre how much of a con this is you have to calculate it from other garage(s) prices not how much you can buy the stuff off ebay and fit it yourself lol
Yeah but its nothing really to do with reputation, just in general its kinda normal practice to ask how much somethings going to cost before letting someone do the work - If you dont ask this is what happens
Defo get a letter written to Kwik Fit HQ. Whats the worst that can happen?
Why dont you use your noodle, get a quote for the work thats been done from another couple of garages, main dealer ideally.
If theres a clear difference then write to Kwik Fits head office and make a complaint.
Did you not think to get a price quote for the work before hand?
Are these track / pointless modding a road car opinions all from folk who happen to live in the city? because i can tell you i use all my available ponys, you have to if you want to get from A to B past paddy wagons, caravan's and sunday driving tourists where i come from!
Its called reducing...
Just been on Passionford and the outlay some of them are paying out makes a charger kit look like pocket money!
Yeah its expensive to tune a Clio but so is every other car
Thats what they say, depending on which threads you read lol - I found the 182 gave better top end. Just felt a lot better overall than the 4-1.
Happy with my torque level from the 182 mani anyway, would the 172 be even better?....who knows
Dont agree with it being pointless as long as...
Between cat to manifold is a spring kit with mesh incerted gasket to allow for movement. (see ktec's site for pictures)
The cat to middle section is just a normal metal gasket and just bolted up solid :)
Problem is the recess and the curve in the pipe. Get it wrong and you could run into a lot of problems not to mention hassle.
For the sake of a just over 100 notes its not worth messing about imo
I dont think your seeing the bigger picture here. Like you said they weigh only 900kg's. Thats one hell of a weight saving and advantage plus its not just down to the shift, its the difference in gear ratio's mainly.
If you want this for acceleration then change your stock ratio's and save...
Hang on a min lets put it into prospective.
Dosent the 350Z has 300bhp? standard plus a extra 500 more CC's? where by the Clio wont have more than 250, probably more like 230ish running cams and TB's.
That to me is one impressive Clio
Or for roughly 500 quid more you can have 270bhp of no lag SC grunt- its a no brainer.
Miles more cost effective spending 4k+ on serious power rather than skirting about on big work engine conversions with only 'good' gains
Even the most basic conversion you listed and you'll be talking £1500.
Forget cams altogether. Too much work and a lot of expense for little in the way of gains compared to other options.
Best options from these imo:
- Supercup inlet (when it comes out)
- Supercharger
- Ktec...
If you want to lower your car dont buy Eibachs.
Apex gives a very good drop. Any lower than Apex (40mm) and it would be a pain with everyday driving
Stick with the rims you have, they'll be far more rarer than Turinis lol
Why would they be bulk buying a oil which costs double the amount of a regular oil say Castrol when majority of their traffic is going to be run abouts and family cars? :S not to mention the limitations with the 0W 40 grading.
Dosent add up :S
No need what so ever to touch the gearbox oil unless its cranked up a fair few miles and is getting particually notchy.
Not sure how Kwik Fit stock genuine filters or even Mobil 1 as they bulk buy :S
