The missus had hers done through insurance, £60 excess & so say doesn't affect NCB...
Just have a look through your insurance docs to find which windscreen company they allow & contact them, they should sort you out.
seems the best way to go mate
Any of you guys on here?.
A very nice looking Silver 182 at the traffic lights, going straight across the ring road roundabout from Mangotsfield (ish) towards Westerleigh.
I was 1 car behind, in the right hand lane in a Cup (didn't see me though did ya :-(
I think it's time i pulled my finger out & bought one too... caraudio sounds good.. think i'll just get the cable not the dash bracket though, and keep the pod in the glovebox.
Your absolutely corrcet Bruce182.. that £99 at Halfords is the FM modulator! robbing bar-stewards!
Think i might go with the £99 ice link you got..
next dilemma... do i get the cradle & fix it to the dash.. or the dock connector and keep it stored away in the glovebox.. decisions decisions...
i saw an advert for Halfords today on the telly, they advertise the Ipod car kit for £99 fitted & the picture shows a Denison? anyone else seen this?
I'm still deciding whether to get one & keep the standard HU or get an Alpine HU with the ipod adapter.. Hmmm
Welcome beavis.. i too have a mk2 172 cup... and from bristol, i found it quite ok driving to work in the snow this morning. Carpark was well covered in snow at my place too but managed to get in & parked fine :-) was just fretting about whoever was gonna park next to me after i'd left it!!
Hmmm so they are components then.. god damn, makes things harder.
Harder as in, makes me think i should be getting comps. lol
I shall have a think.. and a look around..
Any ideas whether some better comps would be ok with the standard HU though? or is it a bit under powered?
What sort of...
funny that, i was actually looking at those on a website the other day.
Are these a vast improvement over the standard?
Excuse my ignorance, but will the dash tweeters still work if i swapped the door speakers? i take it the standard speakers aren't components in the front doors?
I was...
I'm wanting to replace the standard door speakers in my 2003 cup,
I'm still keeping the original head unit.(for now....)
I'm probably looking to spend around £50 maybe a bit more, for some speakers that will offer good sound quality. (if thats possible...)
Preferable some that would improve...
when buying my cup, i enquired about the small mud flaps like on Mike SE's post & i'm sure they were about £30 for a front set from renault.
Still havn't got round to buying some for mine yet though!!
I had a similar dilemma,
I wanted a cup, not too bothered about abs & cruise control & leather.. but i did want Climate Control.
(i'm gonna sound like a girl now...) i wanted the cup for the simple reason i loved the colour & the wheels :-).
Then out of the blue i found a cup with Climate &...
A little advice needed,
Do any of you guys have an ITG filter (as seen on the k-tec website) on a 172 cup?
If so are there any gains i could expect if i fitted one to my otherwise totally standard car? or is it only really worth it used alongside other modifications?
Cheers
Just wondering if any of you out there are insured as the title states?
I am, but i've just realised that the details on my insurance Docs say Renault Clio 2.0l Sport 172.
So being a 'cup' i thought i'd better make sure, so i rang them.
They don't actually have a 172 cup 2003 model, they...
I was wondering this exact thing myself.. Looking into buying some new speakers for the Cup.
I take it the front door speakers are just 13cm Full range speakers? not mids? or is it a component set mids in doors & tweeters in dash? Hmmm
I'm a bit reluctant to take the tweeters out to look at...
i felt exactly the same when i drove the cup i now own .... i got mine from a stealer too, but at the time the 53 plate with CC 8500k on the clock for £8300 i was well pleased and still am.
Just drive past the same dealer today actually & theres a 52 plater in there for £7999 (SJ Cooks, Bristol)
I think i may have a slight problem with the paint on the boot lid of my Cup too...
I only noticed it the other day when washing it, there are very small browny dots over it.. not too noticible yet, but i shall be keeping an eye on them, It does look like rust forming, but then it's also on...
so the Connects2 adapter works fine then i take it, i've been looking into different solutions for my iPod for a while now, having been put off by the price tag of the ice link, i think the connects2 seems very good...
Thanks for sharing that Info, very appreciated.
