yeh thats the bit i get confused i know that f4 is narrower than f22 but my lecturer used to call f4 a bigger aperture than f22 (because of the size of the whole in the lens)
the noise will be the iso on the camera.... its probably set on auto iso (turn it off an stick it on the lowest number you can... also try and set your background up so there isnt a corner at the bottom of the wall you want a smooth curve from the flat to the wall otherwise known as an infinity...
its not really that expensive, 5 quid will get you it developed and printed 10x8... which for 30 prints (35mm) is probably cheaper than getting 30 digi prints on 10x8....
can always buy a dev kit for yourself... just need somewhere dark to load the film then about 30 mins to dev depending on...

still 250 quid will get u a couple studio flashes, softbox, sync lead and back drop...
easy to load in a film back but in a dev spool as there are no holes in the edge of the film it can be a b*****d to roll on to it...
i love digital dont get me wrong, but there is something satisfying with film, much more involved and not just a point and shoot affair, you gotta make sure...
thing i miss the most is the smell that follows you around after a day printing lol, dev and fix lol, fix smells like cat piss but becomes addictive lol!

was speaking to a guy i know who has shot for getti images and reuters... he used to shoot solely canon cameras and has now switched to nikon and he used the d90 for a bit and says he loves it, has nothing bad to say about it at all and infact bought one for his wife to use!
