some of them are not 100% blank though, they are locked to a cars chassis number in a way and are useless for any other car, and they still need coding aswell

the one you have bought from Ebay is probably useless, it might only work with the car it was originally intended for, im not completely up to speed with my knowledge of keys yet so i may be wrong, but a lot of them are this way buy a plip from Renault, and get it coded at Renault, your looking...

yup, sounds like you havent unclipped the little plastic rail, unclip it and throw it away and your battery should fit fine

what other numbers are on it ? such as 063/065/075 ???

hmmm, id say that if you fitted 30mm 16v/willy springs to a non 16v/willy, then it would probably lower it 50/60mm and im not certain, but id think they would fit fine mate, most of the clio springs are the same size, width wise anyway
