It's utterly pointless. Strip it right out, give it some coilies, big brakes and good tyres and you'll see a much bigger improvement than wasting a load of money on tuning stuff.
I've never detailed one, never detailed any car, but from being a sprayer my experience with it is it's thin as hell and chips like nothing else I've seen.
For it to look right it'll need to be completely re-done, you'll get away with only colouring the area you've repaired but you'll need to re-lacquer the whole thing. Only painting a little bit will look pish and touching it in will also look pish.

Probably an old fart getting in everybody's way, the reason for everyone overtaking him so much. He seems to report EVERY case of speeding he comes across.
It's not perfect, but not bad at all for 700 quid.
Personally mate, full resprays are a pain in the ass even when you know what you're doing, never mind on your first crack at it. If you're trying to get into the trade why not leave it until you've gained a bit of experience then?
