    Polishing intervals?

Depends on which product you use, some have very mild cleansing agents in, but as a rule of thumb you use them whilst drying your car to remove streaks, after washing for added gloss, or over a wax to top up the protection and shine. The Megs detailer is a good all rounder and streak free. It...

    Polishing intervals?

That's what I have been doing, mainly the interior, door seals, trim, plastics, engine bay, leather. I don't have a garage and a fair bit of motorway driving so simply no point taking off the Collinite yet. Can't wait for some warmer weather! Plus not much point yet until I can actually drive...

    Polishing intervals?

It didn't fall apart, but it became a bit more maleable maybe than normal. I put it down to the hot water. I think as long as you keep rinsing off every few minutes to maintain sufficient surface friction jopbs a good 'un! When you say machine polish, is that different to standard PCing then...

    Polishing intervals?

It feels extremely slippy, something the ladies might enjoy! Seriously it is a good mix, and seems to really enhance the gloss compared to just using the shampoo, and cleans better than just using the QD. I make the concentration pretty thick, and try different QDs to see the effects. On my...

Damn you Rich! Got there first... give me my place in the sun! :rasp: ;)

    Polishing intervals?

CLaying is pretty simple really, once you get going you will find it is not hard at all, but like Rich says just make sure you use a clean face of the clay, otherwise you will be removing contaminants but adding scratches! When I clay, I first wash the car using a good shampoo with wax in...

    cusco kids teflon wax

Not entirely true, the reason so many people were annoyed or bemused at Geo's attitude was that he failed to answer questions on the product, despite being asked several times, and started being a bit obnoxious back to his potential customers. Not saying he wasn't provoked, but as a salesman not...

    Blue "stuff" in engine bay

I think there is a bit too much and in hard to reach places so I will leave it be. I think my car may have a hole in the back-box so think that is a slightly more pressing issue!

    cusco kids teflon wax

Not sure about that stuff, the top wax has cleansers in it which doesn't sound ideal. I remember I had some shampoo with Teflon in a year or so ago, it worked well but the effects didn't seem that great. However, using an entirely Teflon system may have more of an effect. As someone who does...

    Blue "stuff" in engine bay

Yeh that is exactly what I have. Is there any quick and easy way to remove does anyone know? Not sure I agree with the "Factory look" Rich! It is just some paint on my engine components to me.... If it is a lot of work or dangerous in anyway though I will leave it be.

    Blue "stuff" in engine bay

Right, just noticed a little bit of what looks like blue paint in my engine bay. Only a little bit, on top of a couple of the components. Not sure if it has always been there, but only a small amount, just me being a bit obsessive and wanting to clean it of. But I just want to find out what it...

    cleaning products

I think Jeffs is very durable, especially after two layers. I leave it to cure for at least 15 minutes, meaning it is tough to get off but you can physically feel the difference on the metal surfaces compared to the polish. For me it is ideal, and like you say, it has a great finish to it...

    OK, so what next?

I did my Dad's car today and just used half a bottle of warm water, some average shampoo and a little of each of the 3 QDs I have to lubricate the clay and worked excellently. Only managed one layer of JEffs spray sealant and one 50/50 though due to the weather, but looked simply awesome. The...

    cusco kids teflon wax

How much is it Geo, and can you just confirm whether or not you can use it with other products, as I was thinking it might be useful in Winter as a top coat over a more durable wax such as Collinite. Thanks.

    cusco kids teflon wax

Are you and Cusco Kid pals by any chance, both hailing from Dunfermline? Just looks a bit suspect that you are so positive about the product and you both come from the same place... Having said that, if what you have said is all true, then looks like a very promising product for those who do...

Yeh just try a good polish then in that case. I just hate polishing oxidised cars. UH! Good luck...

Has anyone tried this at all? Sounds pretty good.

    dull paint. Help?

I would just say a good old fashioned polish, but if like many old cars (especially red ones) the paint has become badly oxidised, I would say save your elbow grease and take it to a bodyshop for a mop session. MMM. Once you have got rid of the oxidisation you can then protect the paint so it...

    dull s.s exhaust

Autosol or similar work well. Would maybe try AG Engine and Machine cleaner first, applying liberally and leaving to soak, just to loosen it up a little. You may have to use some slightly more abrassive than a toothbrush though - and with a larger surface area, otherwise you may be there for...

    Car Wash N Wax

Management and Philosophy.... not sure though, didn't do much last year as I was applying for placements and now I am in the "real" world you kind of realise how little a degree does now for you, unless you are training to be a doctor or a scientist really (which I'm not). I saw a 172 Cup last...

Where abouts are you in Leeds btw? I am back next year, near Hyde Park. I think I have seen your car about, did you used to live near Manor Terrace?

    Car Wash N Wax

Arrived this morning, about 15 hours after placing the order - and about 600 miles away. AND I haven't even paid for it yet. Fantastic!

    SRP, EGP, P21s

Rich, and any others that like Sonax shammpoo; I have used the Saab shampoo my old man managed to get on a massive discount. It seemed pretty good to me, a very rich liquid that foamed up well and has a good amount of wax in it. Obviously Saab is GM owned like Vauxhall, so I was just wondering...

    Car Wash N Wax

Received a call from Graham yesterday (fancy that, a business calling you back, not a rude email or anything!) and we arranged payment via a cheque. As I was ideally trying to get hold of these products for this weekend, he even said he would post my order before the cheque had cleared. It seems...

    Supaguard?

Have heard some positive reviews of Permaguard, but can't see it being any more durable than a couple of layers of Collinite's 476s. Your car does have a nice gloss to it though if all you have done before taking those photos is wash it.

    Marks on seats...

I would first of all try using a damp to wet cloth, leather or quality MF, and carefully wipe the surface to make it damp. It will just be the minerals in the water that are deposited when the water evaporates. What material are your seats made from?

    Splitters

Jamie, where abouts do you live in Leeds, not near Manor Drive/ Terrace at all?

    Supaguard?

As someone worked in a dealership, I can confirm the profits made from these profits is way too high. Save your money and do it yourself if you really want it. They work ok, don't get me wrong, but no better than any decent combo of durable sealant and wax.

black evo ix - what should i be using to polish???

Loads of posts on this. I recommend: Chemical Guys Body Wash n Wax shampoo (Car Wash n Wax) Autoglym Super Resin Polish (Halfords) Jeffs Acrylic Trigger spray sealant (Polished Bliss) 50/50 Wax (Car Wash n Wax) although Collinite 476 (Serious Performance) is a great, very durable product for...
