Cant seen them turning you away mate, i had a simillar problem with my old C2 GT, they were supposed to powder coat a wheel and never, took it back and they said no problem!
It is more than likley to be the wires under the seat.
Have they been soldered together? Id snip them and get a choc bloke or conector and re wire them together. mines was on for ages. 2 minute fix tbh!

However if you find one that has been cherished it should run sweet as a nut. When i bought my Phase 1 i got every receipt for her for all the work thats been done to her.
Only had to get the cambelt and coil pack done and shes been running great ever since.
Neglect can put the renaults...
There are no shortcuts with insurance companies imo.
Nothing gets it down like experience and caution with regard to road safety.
To be quite honest even when you do get to that magical "25" your still getting screwed wether its 4000 or 400. its a f**king joke from the start

I did see one for sale on PH a while back for 10k it had 9,000 miles on the dial with 8 service stamps, v impressive!
This might sound daft but i find stiff clutches more engaging
My brothers 55 plate Fiesta ST has a really light clutch and it just doesnt feel convincing if that sounds weird lol
