PB 172. The morning after RS

Haha I've only got the motivation as I've been off work due to a hernia repair so had spare time, trying to get lots done before going back to work. I used standard hycote satin and so far it's been fine. Alot swear by VHT only but I've done a few rocker covers, inlets etc with standard paint...

PB 172. The morning after RS

Couple small updates. First as it was MOT time I decided to fit the new washer pump as the old one was knackered It clearly hadn't been used in a while as the water instead smelled disgusting! So gave it a clean and rinsed the inside with boiling water and surfex HD Whilst the scuttle and the...

    Ran over a hare today

I've seen a crow come into contact with the grill of a mondeo at 80mph on the A38. The results were.....interesting. Needless to say the guy needed a new grill

PB 172. The morning after RS

Finally, instead of the clio self destructing on me, it has decided to fix itself. Since tightening up the gearbox earth, I now have a normal functioning speedo and the high RPM limp mode issue has disappeared. No hesitation from the car at all now :)

Wanting to create something. A light for the variable cam activation.

It seems like alot of work, you'd have to find out if the limiter is governed by water or oil temperature, then find out what temperature that is. Then maybe wire up a oil temp or water temp sensor with an LED that comes on when the temperature is up to the specified amount? I'm not great with...

    Electrical gremlins- Immobiliser

They definitely seem to hate electrics and sensors.

    Electrical gremlins- Immobiliser

It made me hate it to the point I was looking at Hondas. Now I want to hug it :)

PB 172. The morning after RS

    Electrical gremlins- Immobiliser

Well folks it's solved. The heavens opened and our Lord spoke to me and told me "check the gearbox earth strap again" and low and behold, a very loose strap. Tightened it up and fired up straight away 3 times in a row. What a tit

    Electrical gremlins- Immobiliser

It's becoming a pain in the arse. Love RS Clios so much but they don't half test my patience.

    Electrical gremlins- Immobiliser

Also, just done the dash fault trick and when I did it the first time the immob. light went off, but continued to come on and stay on every time after. One letter keeps coming up which is T which I believe is something to do with the injectors?

PB 172. The morning after RS

I've now got a thread going on the immob. issue: http://www.cliosport.net/threads/electrical-gremlins-immobiliser.763853/ If anyone has any advice then let me know :)

    Electrical gremlins- Immobiliser

After reading tonnes of threads on similar problems, this one seems to be identical to my problem: http://www.cliosport.net/threads/bypassing-the-immobiliser-on-a-ph2-172.612962/ So on the advice given in the thread I've stripped the trunking and tape off the loom from the ecu right down to...

    Electrical gremlins- Immobiliser

Trying to diagnose my current problem, not sure if the UCH is knackered or it's something more simple. Basically my 172 has been fine up until now, jumped in it this morning, went to start and.....nothing. Noticed the immob. light is solid red when trying to start. Once it did fire and then died...

PB 172. The morning after RS

Great start to the week with an immobiliser fault (I think) Yay!!! When I got in the clio this morning it just wouldn't crank. Had some weird electric thing going on, turned the key and nothing happened, immob light was on solid and then when I turned the ignition off the dash and climate...

    Cornish 172 Flamer

As said I wouldn't go panicking about insurance yet, you may be lucky and it's just a wheel and caliper.

    Cornish 172 Flamer

Where are you now? I may be able to take you to the flamer with the spare wheel and see what the damage is

    Cornish 172 Flamer

Aww mate :( gutted. Have you got standard 172 sport alloys on yours? If so I've got a clean spare one with a good tyre you can have free? I'll drop it off today and we can go through yours a bit?

I hate tacky, it's OK on your first corsa or a escort from the 90's but not for me.

[Nov 6, 2015] SW South monthly meet (Par)

Bit of a downer folks. The Mrs boss has asked if she can cover the 8-2 shift tonight which leaves me with the boys unless my parents can kindly have them for the night. Hopefully they can. This sucks unicorn Wang was just about to got out and wash the car ready too! :@

PB 172. The morning after RS

Managed to rectify a couple of the eye sores today. Got the silver bullets on, makes a huge difference and really glad I did: Also removed the crappy stickers off the rear window: And removed those yellow 'renault' skirt stickers. Now obviously big lairy stickers are the only way to...

PB 172. The morning after RS

Thanks dan, as you know I've done the sensor so I'll do the loom too. The flamer had a standard sensor and loom, is there any reason why some go bad and need a new loom?

PB 172. The morning after RS

If they're local to plymouth I'd be more than happy to get a quote. Need the front bumper, bonnet and rear quarter doing. But I may just buy a decent bonnet and get that painted (if I can't find a good one in pb) instead of getting this one straightened out.
