And you'd be correct. In true clio fashion, this one has let me down. The key suddenly won't turn in the ignition and the steering lock has disappeared for no apparent reason.
As luck would have it folks just got off the phone to a chap who seriously wants a flamer and is a reno mech himself so isn't bothered about the belts etc. He wants to swap with his black 172 that's on 88k and had the belts done at 76k.
I've seen a couple for less than 1K, less than 100,000 and a couple have already had the cambelt done. Unless mine was a non-runner or needed serious bodywork, I'd say between the lack of history, damage log, 126k mileage and it needing the dephaser etc it can't get much worse tbh
Right folks. Spoke with the mrs and decided I'm going to sell the flamer and start off with a more investable base. So if anyone knows of any RS's going for less than 1k then please let me know. Obviously I'm looking for one that hasn't been damage logged and with some sort of history.
I know it's a straight car, just annoys me a bit that I didn't know before. Everything in my head says sell it and put cash toward another RS but I'd only want a flamer or a LY, both of which seem fairly expensive (one flamer on eBay at the mo is over 3k). All I can say is she's lucky she's a...
Only two small advisories on last MOT. I've gone over the paint with a fine toothed comb and can't see any evidence of dodgy repairs or anything. All the panels are straight from the inside. As said, had both bumpers off and the slam panel and crash panels are intact with no welding etc. Maybe...
Ok folks, I have received the V5 and on the bottom is a note for repair in 2011. Not good. I'm now in a predicament. Do I plough on with getting the dephaser etc done or do I cut my losses, sell and buy another RS? In reality what is my 172 worth? 2003, 126K, little service history, needs...
I've seen a few flamers being broken from time to time, may be worth just replacing panels with good items instead of getting the scuffs repaired ;) I'd love some turini's or OZ superturismo's
Not much to update due to being off work at the moment (had a hernia repair). Finally felt fit enough today to clean the flamer, wanted to clay it etc ready for the winter but couldn't manage it. I took the opportunity to try a couple new products. Namely, Chemical Guys Mr Pink and Chemical Guys...
So the flamer started ticking a bit, odd as only recently it had oil, filter etc. Decided to check the plugs and saw this:
Should there be unburnt oil in the inlet manifold? Turned out a couple plugs were slightly loose so I nipped them up, what's the reason behind plugs going loose? Also...
I've noticed alot of the meets seem to be late evening. Is there any reason for this, just seems to make more sense to do it mid-day ish on a sunday, that way it's a bit more sociable and we can see eachothers cars. Not a dig in any way, was just wondering :)
