    AG Fallout Remover

I've used Autosmart fallout which I'm certain is 99.9999% the same. Pants IMO. After 3 neat hits on some fairly clean wheels Iron-x still bled after. I ended up giving it away....

    Auto Finesse review - Verso

Just to chime in, I've found Verso to be much nicer to work with than G101. It smells nice (like pine) instead of rotting cats p**s (G101), foams up nicer and IMO seems a bit more potent. I've used it to de-grease my engine bay, clean my wheels, remove Meguiars Endurance (which seemed resilient...

    Imperial.

It's a really good wheel cleaner, especially at £15 for 5L. Can't comment on bilberry as I've not used it.

Advice on tools for dephaser + cambelt. 172

Yup I didn't realize the home made tool in the guide is a 90mm jubilee clip! Haha, ghetto but seems effective.

Advice on tools for dephaser + cambelt. 172

Ok thanks that makes it clearer. One last thing, are there any specific tools for setting the tension on the belt?

Advice on tools for dephaser + cambelt. 172

Am I right in thinking the sprocket tools main purpose is to take the tension off the shafts so you can undo the pulleys, and then lock it back in place to tighten up/tension the sprockets? Also one last query is, when removing the knackered dephaser, make sure the TDC pin is located and the...

Advice on tools for dephaser + cambelt. 172

Ok, first off please don't shoot me but I want to carry out a dephaser change along with the obligatory cambelt, aux belt and water pump change (plus idlers/tensioner etc). My PH2 172 literally 'owes' me approx £500 and the prices I've been quoted to do this are....well......ridiculous (by...

    HY03 ZHA- Anyone owned it?

Bump, surely someone on here must have seen it at some point? From what I can see it also went to FCS this year too.

    HY03 ZHA- Anyone owned it?

Has anyone on here owned, or know who owned my PH2 172? Reg HY03ZHA. It's got a CS Sticker, tax holder and welcome pack so I assume it's been on here at some point. Trying to get an idea of its history as it came with none. Worth noting if a previous owner is reading this and has a history...

    My Flame Red 172

Yeah I realized that after my 'Doh' moment. Well I'll replace a few more bits before it goes in for the dephaser, it can't hurt.

    My Flame Red 172

Ok another update in my quest to solve the infamous lumpy idle/ random misfire issue. Decided to service the clio today, opted for NGK plugs, 5w40 Fully Synth. oil and a MANN oil filter. So I took off the injector rail cover to find this: Am I right in thinking that open hole should not be...

Thanks bud going to have a look at the plugs later and take it from there. Does anyone know where I can get a champion f136 or as close to? Struggling to find them

    My Flame Red 172

So. Since doing my MAP sensor, the ESP and SERV light has stayed off, but yesterday, upon first startup the EML would flash for a couple mins then disappear. But no fault codes stored. Today the EML stayed on and gave p0300. Worth checking/replacing plugs, packs etc?

    Being 30 and in a 182

I think this guy agrees that you can be any age to enjoy a decent hot hatch! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BTTI-aMKn60 I'd rather be 30 and driving a clio RS rather than a clapped out astra or ford galaxy or something. I'll never grow too old for fun cars! Why be boring when you could not be?

    Best 'in-the-shop' shampoo

I'm another for megs gold if you're looking for off the shelf. It's a shame Autoglym don't do a retail version of their trade cherry shampoo as I find it much much better than BSC

Auto Finesse haul for my 172 Flamer :)

Hi all. Living down in plymouth (devon), detailing is still considered a form of sorcery and as such we've submitted to using halfords and good ol' trago as a car care staple. But this weekend I found a small motorcycle shop in Newton Abbot who are a stockist for Auto Finesse. Anyone who lives...

    Ph2 172 starting problem

I've had the same issue recently, it was the MAP sensor, remove your engine cover and look on the left hand side of the inlet manifold, there's a sensor you can unplug. Mine was loose where the rubber bung had been taken off by previous owner. Simply plug a new one in and you're away. Is your...

    My Flame Red 172

Small update. I found a local Auto Finesse stockist in Newton Abbot :D so had a nice blast along the country roads to get there and came away with a small haul of goodies And right on cue, my MAP sensor died on me in the car park, a quick look I discovered this: The rubber bung was missing...

Just phoned Renault and they quoted £650 labour only or £1150 with supplying parts :0

    My Flame Red 172

In Devon (plymouth) I'm more than happy to do a reasonable road trip if there was someone good at the right price elsewhere
  25. J

    My Flame Red 172

Ah Ok. Well they're a Renault specialist so I'd hope so. I'm going to ring Renault too just to see what they're price is but no doubt they'll want to pull my pants down and take me for everything I've got
  26. J

    My Flame Red 172

In what way? Parts or labour? A couple posts I've seen on here have paid approx £600 for theirs to be done.
  27. J

    My Flame Red 172

So folks, been pricing up the Dephaser, Cam belt and water pump. It will cost £335 (inc vat) for labour alone from a local specialist (is this figure about right?) Then a Gates cam belt kit and Febi waterpump will cost £114 and a renault dephaser approx £110 so all in = £550 give or take a...
