Do you just buy any old areo blade (21 inches) from eBay? IE, will the bracket fit the car on any? Or is there something you need to check first?
Yes, sorry for my 182 I meant
Next jobs on the list are to take a look at some of the heavier stone chips, not just on the bumper and bonnet but on the wings, mirrors and door pillars. Give the headlights a good polish to restore the clear shine. Potentially get the wheels sorted. MOT in a couple of weeks. Alignment done...
Next job was to tidy up the back end, I wasn't really that keen on the badges:
So I used the usual methods to take them off:
Actually came off pretty easily- cleaned off all the dirt and was left this this:
Took the C L I O off the other side too:
Pulled the plugs out, cleaned...
So, got delayed a little with the weather but finally got the paintwork finished for now. The V36 polish has working well at removing almost all swirls and marring but there are some deeper scratches that have remained and in some places it probably could have done with a compound- probably...
Just imagine a wax... on steroids!! Haha. I like to use a synthetic sealant for the long term protection/water beading/easy washing then follow with a wax for the deep shine. I use Chemical Guys stuff personally, but GTechniq is awesome too.
Definitely a massive improvement, the BG paint comes up so lovely with a machine- brings back so much sparkle!
Than beading is insane! Love a good beading action haha.
Good stuff with the wax, have you ever used a longer term sealant before?
Just seen this is a T5, 2.5L turbo lump they put in the Focuses?
Do you like it? Looked at these a while back as a good little 'sleeper'. Thought they could be quite good fun with some coilovers, although I was concerned the steering would be a be numb and the brakes a bit average.
Making some really great progress here mate. Keep cracking on at it, another 197 being cared for is great to see. Looks like the previous owner/owners ruined the car but glad to see it has finally found a good home.
Revitalising this old thread, taken the CLIO badge off, got a new RS badge to go on and it doesn't seem to be covering the holes? I tried to use the rounded right side of the 'R' in RS to cover it, but there still seems to be a small area of the hole exposed when you look inside the 'R' hole...
Looks good mate, just read through this all. The crack looks a lot better on the second attempt, but perhaps in future you could put some fibreglass behind the crack to strengthen it?
Looks awesome this!! As a Mk1 owner I have so say your Mk1 looked incredible (I think I even saw the for sale add on Mx5Nutz) but this Mk3 is beautiful. I really love the Roadster Coupes and will definitely have to have one at some point.
From what I understand, the a rotary is a lot softer on the hand? Because it isn't oscillating there's less vibrations? I can only use my DAS for up to about 4/5 hours before I get the phantom vibrations after I stop using the machine!!
You make a good case, it would be something versatile...
Hey guys,
So, I've been using the DAS 6 Pro Plus for a couple of years now and I love it- its an awesome machine and has served me well. I run it with 5.5" Chemical Guys pads and that suits me nicely. Seems to have enough poke where needed and the pad doesn't tend to bog down too much...
