Thought about the BMC one? Sealed IK with huge cold air feed, apparently quite good. They look the dogs b****cks an all imo
Its cos the airbox sits on top of the engine, hot air rises, no where for it to go, all gets sucked into the unsheilded K&N. Standard airboxes with performance elements are best for Clios, espeically the mk1 1.2/1.4/1.8(rt) cos the filter sits on top of the engine. Well thought out that Renault!!!!
Yes there was!! Yours is more then likely MPI, some late phase 2 were MPI as well. Yours also has the short ratio gearbox an all, now knowing Renault they could have used to SPI on the S and just switched the MPI on phase 3 RTs. Who knows with Renault!!! Who knows why the hell they decided to...
I havent no but you know which model Im on about dont ya!! Mk1 phase 3, only made for a couple of years before being replaced with the mk2 bug eyed Clio.
Think they were late N through to early R, switched over to the mk2 at R I think, dont quote me on that though!

The MPI in mk1 Clio actually had less bhp then the SPI, but it did have more torque and was quicker to 60 then the SPI. The MPI engine in the RT was put in on late phase 2 and phase 3 mk1 Clios as far as Im aware. 99% on mk1 phase 1 1.4 were SPI, cept a few early carb models.

As someone said, on mk1 Clios, if its got a choke lever, its a carb but these were very very very early models, think they used same engine that was in the old R19. It being phase 1, gonna be a single point injection, late phase 2 and phase 3 mk1 where multipoint. 5bhp less but more torque...

Yeh, got mine as well, subscribe. The Renault Ad feature is really good, the little sections about the Williams, and 5 Turbo are pretty good as well, short but good. Obviously talked up and some classic cheesy lines but what do you expect, its an advert!!
Limiter kicks in at between 6500-6750, but theres no point taking it to there, main powers around 4-5k, what little power there is anyway. I know mine sounds wicked when it hits the limiter, screams like f**k but there aint no power there!!
Stop being a lazy fecker and get down on your knees with a bucket and sponge, theyll come up a lot cleaner in the end!
