I've been told by a colleague there's a big meet tonight down Southsea seafront, we're both heading down around 6. I think there's 20 or so cars coming over from the IOW.
Not Clio or Renault exclusive.
Ok, thanks for all that. I'm planing to have a load of work done later in the year once I've recovered from xmas so I'll add the bearings to that list and get the track rods on order.
Looking at the damage it does look more of a scuff than a direct hit, the car didn't jerk much when I hit it...
I should have been more careful, people always merge too quickly there, I've had people straddle both lanes from MD's. Then give you the finger when you honk them!
Thanks, I'm going to get it on the jack and have a look. I'm not hugely familiar with what I'm looking for, any easy checks to do?
Thought I'd update, plugs helped a little and were a light dirty. It turned out to be the lambda sensor only, I found a very similar post about a 182, seriously surprised it could cause such a bad fault. Had it swapped and the code reset, good as new :-)
Cheers for that, I'll have a look there as well. Newgate Lane, just after MD's, guy pulled out from that left turn too wide, I reacted and just clipped the traffic light island :rage:
A less than perfect start to Xmas day, clipped a central island at about 40-50 trying to avoid some t**t that couldn't stay in his lane.
Sliver lining, the front tyres needed replacing anyway, the drivers side certainly does now. Plus my wheels have been crying out for a refurbishment for a...
Haha, thanks guys, I went with the Euro ones. There's a depo at the end of the road from my work, already picked them up and should have them fitted tonight.
On a side note, does anyone know if these are the right plugs? Euro have a black Friday sale :-) http://www.eurocarparts.com/ecp/c/Renault_Clio_2.0_2012/p/car-parts/regular-service/car-service-parts/spark-plugs/?408745100&1&4f9a604a9dbf628e89d28e3f6d2c8d7d98258d7a&000301
Edit: Answered my own...
Welch automotive in Fleet, bit of a trek for me, but they came recommended and Mike at Rentech wasn't free till Monday. Welch used to race Formula Renault and Clios.
Bit of an update, had a garage look at it yesterday. They think it's dirty spark plugs or broken spark plugs, they suggested it could be the injectors or a spark plug coil pack. I'm thinking injectors personally, the car had been running rich, I did put that down to the de-cat but it could be...
Thanks guys, I've been planning a remap for a while and thought it may help so I'll get her booked in. Any recommendations in the Portsmouth area, I'd like to avoid driving across the country if possible
I did a lot of reading before the de-cat and heard they can be fussy, the strange...
I've got it booked in for Monday, earliest available space. The guy who read the codes said they were all emission sensor codes, and that they'd most likely go away after refitting the cat. I suspect there's more, maybe the sensor needs replacing.
Ok, I've had the car car completely de-catted. First had a standard de-cat pipe, then the pre-cat fell apart so was removed. The car has never been mapped or tuned.
Get into the car on Sunday, 5 minutes in I pull on to a roundabout, put my foot down and nothing. A few pops and bangs but it's...
Got her ready for the Goodwood Breakfast Club Hot Hatch Sunday meet. Last full detail until next summer, to help keep the most of all the crap winter is going to throw!
Been toying with fitting some H&R 29103-2 to my 200 for a while. Got given some Amazon vouchers and somehow found that they stock them. I'm fairly sure, even without the vouchers, £150 is the cheapest around so wanted to give a heads up.
I know it's been covered before, but could someone...
Cleaned her.
Replaced a centre cap. 4 for £8 off eBay and then hand painted with Halfords touch up paint. Beats the £20+ each Renault wants!
Then decided to undo all the cleaning, and went for a drive.
Yeah that was me, it's quite a nice little run up from the centre, hardly Goodwood Hill Climb but it does the job for a quick blast before parking up for the night.
Right, bit of a strange one. I heard a rattle from the 200, lifted the bonnet and the dipstick was loose.
As soon as I put it back in, so it was sealed again, the rattle stopped and the revs dropped slightly and then picked up again.
The strange thing is that the rattle wasn't coming from the...
So I've owned my 200 for just over a year, and I've had 3 centre caps fall off, all from the front wheels. 1 could have been pinched, but 2 have fallen off going from a secure work car park to home, a 5 minute journey on fairly flat roads!
Does anyone else have this issue?
I bought the first...
