    Clio 172 Engine Out

Yea indeed! was interested to see how people get round the problem. Not a fan of torquing the crank bolt with the pin in given that the crank seems to have a couple of degrees play in whilst pinned. Worryingly the book method is to apparently jam a screw driver into the flywheel through a gap in...

    Any ideas?! Random issues

You won't find a solution it's just all part of the joys of owning an ageing French hot hatch. My Cup has decided that the driver door no longer exists.. So when I open the car and get in I need to start the car before the auto lock kicks in! Good times

    Ph1 172 £750

You only have to breath on a rear quarter panel and an insurance company will write a Clio off! People think Cat C means its been bent round a lamp post.. People are dumb

Clio 182 Wont Start. Engine spins but doesn't crank

When mine did this it turned out to be a loose earth. After i tightened the earth under the airbox, on top of the gearbox the car started up straight away.

I can't see the link but if the sound is a tractory rattle coming from the driver side of the engine bay then it will the dephaser pulley.

    Clio 197. Supercharging

Good question! Ive thought about this a lot.. Safe is not a notion we often discuss often.... Yet if you think about it, most of us can say that we feel safe on a fairly regular basis. A Universal Experience. Safe can be defined as free from harm or hurt. So, feeling safe means you do not...

1*2 cup vs non cup for cheap track day car + occasional run around

If you drove a 182 Cup then a 172 you wouldn't be able to tell the difference in handling.

    Replacing the 182

Where have you moved to? central manchester? my advice would be use your parents address. No one should be paying 4 figures for insurance.

    Dephaser

Not sure i understand but if the car started to rev to 3500rpm i would think it could be related to air leaking into the manifold. Thats as vague as im prepared to be at this point in time (y)

182... what upgrades would you fit to your perfect spec road car?

15" wheels are always a sensible move. Keep your Turinis with winter tyres and get some 15's with some nice summer tyres.

    Clio 172 cup advice

If it was me I'd swap injector 1 over with 2,3 or 4 to see if it's the injector or something else ignition related. Fault finding is all about gathering as much info as you can with what you have. My misfire was due to a faulty injector swapped it with a spare I had and haven't had a problem...

    172 dyno power restore project

To be fair if its down on power i would HOPE its due to timing. Timing is easy to resolve and can be done in an afternoon. All other options would result in needing an engine rebuild. Dont let the internet discourage you! we may sound all doom and gloom but there is a lot of good advice to be...

Why is everyone fitting 15 inch wheels?

There is only one reason i changed from 16's to 15's and that's because there was literally no downsides to consider there are only benefits.

    Dilemma ?

There is a guy on eBay that sells sets of part worn 195 50 15 Michelin pilot sport 3's for £80. I've had a couple of sets off him and Whilst he's selling them I won't be buying anything else. He doesn't have any current listings but I'm sure they will be about soon.
