I've chased knocks around the front of my car since I've had it.
The first was resolved by pulling the engine forwards on the engine mounts.
Second time I believe was a combination of track rods, ball joints and top mounts (disappeared during a suspension refresh).
Most recently it was play...
Any thoughts what I can get away with - Clio 182 FF with -1.5deg front camber and 15x6.5" ET37 Turinis.
No need to go mad, but the wheels look a little lost in the arch.
I attempted the Ibuprofen gel fix earlier which failed due to the gel back being slightly delaminated from the actual sensor.
As a last ditch attempt, I tried removing the gel back, and sandwiching it with ibuprofen on both sides which seems to give reasonable optical clarity - no air bubbles...
I'm not sure how much of an issue it is, the car has always sounded like it - doesn't really bother me too much, but when the Clio is replaced later this year the other half will have it, and it drives her mad.
Essentially, when the engine is revving it doesn't sound smooth, but rather sounds...
Thanks for the heads up - I'm actually looking for something a little better built, and more solid/compliant on the road, hence why I'm considering the 197/200. With the different ratios for the 200, can anyone give me the ratios?
As for MPG, I really couldn't care less. One thing I will say...
Can someone explain the differences between the 197/200 and the variants available in each? ie. Is there still a Full Fat version on cup chassis etc?
I'm looking at upgrading but have absolutely no clue about the 197/200.
I only paid £100 for my F1s. These were £310 wrapped in a set of nearly new T1Rs.
Not my first or even fifth choice of tyre but I've fixed the lack of wheels and the need of new tyres for the same money as I was just about to spunk on some AD08s, so I'm happy.
Walk away.
Buy one with wheels you do like and that doesn't have potentially hard to find knocks and bangs.
It's not like there's any kind of shortage of second hand Clios!
My 182 has it's standard exhaust - it's still chavvy.
It spent 1 year rolling around on red wheels - extra chavvy.
Am I a chav? No.
They are chavvy cars - deal with it. I own mine because it was silly cheap and a disposable car is a hell of a lot more fun.
I've owned everything from a...
You're not going to do any damage to a factory mapped car by putting 95 RON in.
My Clio gets 95 Ron 90% of the time, because there are very few places to get super (Two expensive Indys and a Tesco store 10 miles away).
Sure there are gains to be had, and they will be more prominent on a turbo...
I was similar - I bought the Clio as a cheap hack when I sold my Focus ST.
2.5 years later, despite searching for a new car - I can't find anything that I'd enjoy more with my budget of £8k.
I got pictures of the pothole in the dark, I'm going to head back there today with a tape measure and a better camera to document it better.
I don't hold high hopes though. The council were reasonably good with claims, however the roads have since been taken over by a private company under a...
