What's involved and how do people usually do it?
Is it just the spacing for one hole that is out?
Better to weld up the hole and drill a new one or is it OK to simply elongate the existing one? (My gut feeling is the former).
You only want a blow over, not a full respray?
You could potentially even get away with just getting the damaged panels done BG if it's just the roof and front wings? Even cheaper.
I don't know about where you are, but over here you can achieve a blow over (external only, paint and lacquer)...
Hi,
I started something similar to this, but I started with the stalks. They are indeed a 3x3 matrix. with the scroll wheel having three "switches" to give you a direction.
I wrote something using a HD44780 based LCD controlled by the stereo stalks but never got around to getting any further...
My OSF braided hose failed during an MOT today. Tester claimed he stamped hard on the pedal during brake test and then lost the pedal.
It looks like its failed on the joint at the calliper side.
Goodridge have been good about it and are getting me a replacement out ASAP, but I'm curious...
Has anyone here changed one themselves?
I've heard mixed stories about doing it - some claim you need a special tool for it, others have claimed you need nothing more than a pair of mole grips.
Also, I see there are two different kinds of track rods with different lengths - is this the...
Got a kit in the end - luckily they had it in stock for once.
I think I've had the aux belt off too many times now (this will be the 5th) - done and dusted in 20 mins lol.
I have little choice if my dealer don't have one - I absolutely need the car this weekend. I guess I'll pull the tensioner off and see if anything can be done with it.
I've been keeping a very close eye on this and it appears to have got worse.
now it's really touching and has worn into the belt.
my Renault dealer doesn't keep the aux kits in stock but I can get an aux belt. Does anyone have any idea what's causing it to seize and if perhaps I can pull it...
Just changed the alternator and found the tensioner (with air-con, spring type) was very stiff. I slackened the bolt of and just nipped it up very slightly and it had eased up a lot.
Since re-fitting, the bottom of the spring is very close to the belt - possibly even touching, if only very...
Is there any windows software that allows you to do anything useful with an elm327 interface or is it a case of finding someone with a decent snap on diagnostics computer?
I don't fancy paying Renault £80/ph to diagnose it when they're booked solid for three weeks anyway.
Not sure what's going on here. I haven't used the car for a few weeks after the alternator failed - battery went completely flat.
done the alternator today but the car won't start - it turns over fine with a jump pack but even with a bit of carb cleaner there wasn't even a hint of it starting...

I'm in the middle of doing my alternator and I'm a bit stuck with the aux belt tensioner - I've done it before but can't for the life of me remember how.
The square drive is broken - I'm sure last time I put a jubilee round to hold it and undid the tensioner, but I cant get a ratchet in there...
As I explained before, I cannot have other people getting the hump with a courier on a company account (for reasons which should be pretty obvious!) and they do not provide online tracking.
I've sourced the replacements for nothing more than helping a mate fit his new springs, so the cost of...
Solved.
The problem turned out to be that I'd mangled the wires for the steering angle sensor when screwing the shroud back on.
Now shortened and taped well out of the way. :)
Seeing as the other thread has been deleted, and no matter how many pms I delete it still says my inbox is full, in kind of hoping you're subscribed to this thread gozzie.
In the interests of keeping the peace on here and after the courier is insisting its been delivered, I have sourced some...
So everything is CAN except the OBD port?
I've been researching this and the most I could find out was the OBD port was ISO 9141.
Do you know of somewhere that a CAN line is easily identifiable, to hook in to?
Is the UCH the one under the cup holder? I noticed that was hot at the time.
This happened once before (minus rev counter) but it magically fixed its self a few weeks later.
About an hour previous to it going I refitted my dash top and steering wheel surround. I guess I need to pull that off...
As per the title.
The rev counter, water temp gauge, auto headlights and one touch functionality of the electric windows all died at pretty much the same time.
I'm guessing that perhaps it's an earth fault, but has anyone else come across this before?
Does anyone have one or know where I can get one?
I'm particularly interested in which pins supply ground, power, the thermocouple in the wing mirror and whether there are any CAN lines there.
Thanks in advance :)
