Rear anti roll bar for Castle Combe

The closer the strut towers are to the bulkhead and the stiffer the car the less effective they are. They are more effective on old cars where the towers were halfway down a wing and the chassis was as rigid as jelly.

Does the 1.2 TCE 100 just have crap economy?

A poor driver always blames the car. My 206 2.0 HDI can get anything from 35-50mpg on my 12 mile commute depending on how I drive it. You do know that in many modern cars that if you take your foot of the accelerator when in gear the fuel is turned off. Finding ways to make this happen as often...

    172 oil question weird one

Gearbox will be leaking from the selector shaft. It's a common issue. No harm in giving it a good clean and keeping an eye on it to be sure.

    172 oil question weird one

They don't tend to use oil. It does happen but I've yet to see a Smokey one at a track day. I've found you need to give it a good while and be on perfectly flat ground to get a repeatable reading. Maybe some oil was still draining down when you put the extra half litre in. Most cars are only a...

Replacing the Gearbox. Apparently with better bearings?

It was common on Ford BC gearboxes to machine them for IB5 bearings maybe he is just cutting and pasting info to sound smart!

    Peugeot 106 lowering help

Good quality slide hammer a must for removing old torsion bars. Old beams will almost certainly have some wear. Check rear camber against specs to confirm. To lower the rear you just change the position of the suspension arm by removing the torsion bar, then moving the arm to it's new...

Just look up biker gear. Even the cheapo Oxford type stuff worked well when I was riding and it all uses headsets so hands-free.

Does anyone know what these gearbox parts codes are please?

You might be alright. The knurled bush on mine was worn and the conrod hole was oval due to water ingress through a hole in the boot. I need the filtration module unfortunately. The white nylon bush in the gearbox housing is usually the main culprit.

Does anyone know what these gearbox parts codes are please?

Outside diameter of the Bush in my photo is around 11.95mm and the hole on the Conrod is 12mm.

Does anyone know what these gearbox parts codes are please?

Bits for old type linkage. The knurled Bush is attached to the pin on my filtration module. Any attempt to remove it that wouldn't destroy it failed :(

Does anyone know what these gearbox parts codes are please?

It's a metal insert. The Bush is on the filtration module is the knurled bit and fits in the end of the Conroed If you have the old type the Bush is separate.

Does anyone know what these gearbox parts codes are please?

Yes but if that Conrod is worn you'll need the filtration module as the Bush will be worn too. The Bush is on the module not the Conrod

Does anyone know what these gearbox parts codes are please?

This makes me feel happier about sinking 25 quid into a theory! From an old eBay ad: Text from ad read: "I am selling a brand new genuine clutch cable for a Renault Clio Sport 172 & 182, part number 8200699727. Also included is a brand new gear linkage shifter or "filtration module" as...

Always forget this one. Check the injector cover fasteners. They do vibrate off with age and it makes a horrible noise when it comes loose!

Does anyone know what these gearbox parts codes are please?

Yep, pretty odd name. As far as I know it's only the clevis gearlvr type that has a removable bush. It has an old 7700 part number. I'm buying it completely blind so i'd wait until I get mine as 25 quid is a lot if I'm wrong! It was about 12 quid and the white split Bush was about 3 quid...

    First track day coming up!

My Cup goes to tracks completely standard and on road tyres so your more than prepared. Do a search for tyre pressures as there was an interesting link posted a while back and book some tuition if your a noob. You'll have no front tyre edges and dead brakes by the afternoon if you rely on grip...

    Low rev hesitation

I'd replace the cat to rule that out. Only costs time where as parts cost money. Removing an restriction of an old 400 cell cat I'm assuming a 172 here as I'm on my mobile and sticking a Decat in there will have messed with fuelling just about everywhere which is why some people don't...

Does anyone know what these gearbox parts codes are please?

You need the whole Conrod and unfortunately like me that knurled bush is part of that particular part unless mine is just fused on! I'll be ordering 8200201750 filtration module on Monday as much for my own sanity as to improve my linkage so I'll post a picture when it turns up. Should...

Which bush is that? I don't need any bushes I've replaced all the ones I can it's just the filtration module I need. I ordered 8 and 9 and they are wrong.

Does anyone know what these gearbox parts codes are please?

Right I'm pretty sure I've got to the bottom of this. The one piece item as far as I can tell is referred to as a filtration module and has the part number 8200201750 with a star in front of suggesting it replaces 7700107339 and 7700107354 which are referred to as Link rod (ending 339) and...

Does anyone know what these gearbox parts codes are please?

I expect like me you have this one piece item which has no removable bolt or bush and no nylon insert And not this which is what dialogys gives me with my vin, gearbox code etc a multi piece part which I could switch to but would cost about 50 quid in bits

Does anyone know what these gearbox parts codes are please?

Same problem here. Wouldn't mind so much but regardless of what I put in dialogys I've yet to see a picture of my part.
