What would the symptoms of a diff going be? Its on the 197 and under load the steering wheel is shaking side to side and the car is shaking somewhat too, though it will disappear eventually if you continue to accelerate and even at motorway speeds it seems settled fine.
Not sure if it might be...
Was over at rs tuning in Leeds over the weekend for Paul to tweak my mapping. Talk about ups and downs that journey, the 2am boat broke its engine on the way over and came back to dublin, so onto the 8.20 ferry which left at 9.20 and I flew from holyhead to leeds for a quick turnaround with paul...
Admittedly the tyres weren't brand new and it's kind of being put down to tyre wear and just being unfortunate as anyone can be with a blowout on the road, lol not much left of the tyre to check anyway. Wing was fine pretty much, really bad lighting in the video make it look bad
Well this has moved on a bit and havn't updated :)
After starting to throw the head up things started to arrive for me first up was the boost pipe and the all important ecu
While I was waiting for the ecu I was on the hunt for leather and alcantra so that I could retrim the recaros, edge...
Just waiting on a couple of parts to arrive and then I'll be able to see what small pipework, tubing or sensors i'm missing and then I can get it started
The exhaust system, which is going to be decatted from turbo back initially, we'll see how loud it is and how it fairs at MOT so I might...
Well i've been busy what seems to be every weekend and was doing my nuts in because I know the electrics and ecu coding are going to be one of the toughest and possible time consuming parts so one evening I threw the head up and knocked it out in a couple of hours.
Just a couple of teaser pics...
Yeah clio details taken off and loaded onto megane ecu, I was going to do it myself on CLIP but apparently its a little more involved than that so it'll be sent away
Ill be using just the megane ecu chum, it'll be mated to the rest of the clio stuff
Lol the looks are a secondary issue after it running, and running fast. It'll not bother me that much, that money could be spend on go faster goodies :)
Another delivery, started to work my way through Renault's spaghetti junction of a coolant system. Not a great jigsaw when the originals to work off were a melted puddle of rubber lol
And a nice shiny recirc valve where it was previously blanked off for a dump valve, don't think I want a...
Re: Cro's r27 f1
Well bank holidays are where the magic happens, megane engine stripped and rebuilt with some arp rod bolts to be on the safe side of things, new gaskets and all timed up fresh as a daisy
Can't beat working in the sun, though now im sporting some sort of tan you'd usually see...
I grinded that corner off, once my old clio was low enough it was nicking it all the time. No problems after taking a bit back and I remember Ben172 did the same
Re: Cro's r27 f1
Yeah it was cheap dude, the fire didnt spread too far into the bay so i'm confident that the engine will be grand but i'll be cracking it open anyway don't worry. If the pencil coils were melted or anything looked like it had been on fire around it i'd have walked away but the...
I'm looking at the engine from an interior fire damaged r26 f1 team
Anyone shed some light as to the potential issues I might have using an engine from a car that has fire damage, the electrics and wiring etc are obviously un-usable but i'm thinking the engine block itself?
Seemed to crank...
Re: Cro's r27 f1
It never caught or scraped on anything and it was pretty low. Handled like a go cart too Steven, get it down on some decent coilovers and top mounts. Gaz golds and ast mounts is what I had
