Weird request but could you measure it side-side across the middle for me?
Mine has just arrived and measures about 347mm so i'm thinking it might be the wrong one so just need to check
Cheers, Stephen
But once its stripped there'll only be a couple of things left wired up to go wrong so easy stuff :)
If something does go wrong, the service light won't be the thing to tell you is my advice anyway
Now are they going to test airbags.... or check and see if the light is on? No light no fail
I know the 3 series one has been used but nothing about in my local scrappies currently and i'm not sure if bmw parts department are anything like ours wanting part numbers or they're useless.
Any others that can be had online? I had a search all over the place but not finding much luck...
Sealing the bolts is only going to stop any oil that you are seeing on TOP of the rocker, if theres no oil on top but oil down the plug holes then sealing the bolts will do diddly squat and requires a the rocker seal sorted
Lol I know jonny. Tried these seats in the back but they sat bang to the top with no mounts. Maybe something like a cobra clubman with a really small basemount would fit but they look s**t and id also need the most elaborate cage ever. We'll see down the line, I'd need muchos bhp to make up for...
Lol back in the game boys... touch wood anyway
Jordanstown is a nice place to live but jeez the neighbours arent half nosey ;)
While the engine was taken out and waiting for parts to arrive and a nightmare with the couriers I got on with other things that I had planned.
Off down to b&q with a...
Awesome stuff, it's the passion a few of us on here have that fix the car time after time and it gets what it needs only 50 times greater (49 times than foxy though)
That isn't mine boys, far too tame to be mine :) but any trimming that is going to need done is going to be needed at the bottom of the rear door where it meets the quarter panel
I was pretty sure they dont fit too well straigh away, it's going to need a bit of work regardless. Look at the shape of the 3dr rear quarter compared to the 5dr. Specifically the bottom
The replica skirts look bloody awful though on the 5 dr so better off trying to get the 3dr ones to fit...
No no i'm dead on with that Stevie, any of mine have been grand. I should have taken a pic of the renault one too for reference. The allen key top part rotates, what looks like the second part below that with the notch in it does NOT and the part below that with the triangle does NOT.
Normally...
More a question for the engine im stripping down currently but unlike the renault cambelt tensioner this doesn't have the slot so you know that it has been tensioned to the right amount
How are you supposed to know when it has been tensioned enough? The engine had belt slip and 8 valves bend...
Cheers mate, always appreciated. Some good updates to come by the weekend after making some changes and getting this engine rebuilt now that everything has arrived
Another vote for the above, if the block is coming out anyway its so much easier taking the whole lot out. Lining up the clutch will be much easier too!
If it must be done then drop the subframe a bit and theres room through the passenger wheel arch
the bottom end is still heavy and akward...
Nice option on the subframe Jord. Did Gaz end up charging you any extra for the replacement parts they put in?
If you're feeling generous fancy taking pics of when you rebuild the bottom end back up? Could really help me when I come to do it to my spare block instead of having to leave it to...
