Shouldnt need to be drilling anything mate. The bottom bit of the mount bolts through the subframe, the top one bolts through a metal cover type thing and that is bolted to the gearbox
crack the disc on and use the hub nut to push the disc back on, had a pain in the d*ck like this yesterday!!
I couldnt get the old disc off for love nor money and the new one going on was the same issue!
access to one side of the bolts is down by the manifold (let the car cool down) thats where problem occurs, it is possible to put a spanner on the bold and wedge it against something or squeeze your hand through to hold it.
Alot of cut hands that way though.
It'll be easy enough to sort I...
Takes me 20mins on a 172 to remove and refit, I dont know why people think its so hard.
Foot long extension bar and it really is that easy, even easier again if you have a multi-directional joint. Thats also just jacked up, no ramps
Everything is easier with the right tools
No just cranked with the spark plugs out and had a look into the pistons from the plug holes.
Couldn't get anyone to give me a hand at the time so just rotated it a bit and it was grand. The more its rotated the higher the linkage lifts up and down (height wise) when the gear stick is moved...
I did mate yeah, a lot of the oil left in during the travelling made its way around the whole block, settled and left some mess inside. Basically needed some tlc and a few miles under the belt to burn alot of crap off.
Still unusually ticky, and feels like its holding back a bit though, but...
It'll be in the side of the throttle bodies, dunno how it could be tested. Maybe even cleaned or something?
Do you have access to the gotech software yourself or just the mappers?
Just the wiring isnt hooked up, the pipework is though. I'll wire it back up tomorrow anyway just incase but with people removing theres I doubt its doing anything nasty
Not sure exactly mate, just filled up with water for testing the engine because new hoses are en route.
Seemed like I was holding the hose there for ages anyway. Enough that after running the car for a while it started to raise its own level again in the tank up past max before I shut it off...
I can do nothing but laugh to be honest at the moment its just not going my way.
The new engine is in, fixed the climbing revs... was a bad connection in the brake vacuum hose so at least thats one thing.
So the new issues i'm having now are:
-Coolant is just going walkies, no puddles no...
Honestly danny I have checked and double checked for airleaks just nothing. There was smoke coming out of the lower inlets when I whipped the plenum off.
Spark plugs seem to be quite oily aswell after just being cleaned and put back in
