Im almost certain there aren't any leaks but i'll keep looking. It got to 4k and then misfired there :S
Anyone know what would happen if engine oil got into the engine, smells funky and smoking a bit.....
It was courierd with the oil in and spilt everywhere, thinking some may have it got...
As above, just got the new engine plumbed in (minus the coolant system, wanted to check it ran first) and it starts normal then is reving quite high around 2k and then it starts to climb and I shut it off at 4.5k before I s**t my pants.
Pretty sure there aren't any air leaks or anything, all...
How long did you go at it with the gun? Mine didnt take that much to get it off and it was pretty much welded on.
I agree with the bar between the bolts and use the biggest breaker bar you can get your hands on.

£50+ odd for the headbolts iirc . I thought they were hardened though, must have done well to break them. I probably have some about you can have for a few quid if you want

This is what happened to me but the same symptoms...
I'm not 100% but I had a similar issue with mine with the same symptoms as you are having but it was a 20/30 amp fuse that was causing the hassle.
I traced it back to a leak getting into the brake light connection on the spoiler and would happen everytime I pressed the brakes. Everything would...
Just get the garage to go in with a borescope instead of stripping the head. With mine when I took off the lower inlet you could see one of the valves was clearly doubled over in half, might be similar with yours.
