Good idea. I saw a British Scooby with the guys name and Georges Cross on back side windows at the ring and asked him about it. He said he had been to a Scooby track day in the UK and he and his mates really impressed everybody with the idea. He just left his on. Didnt look too stupid...

Tim,
Any details on the upgrades, seats rollcage etc available from Renault Sport would be appreciated. Prices etc.
As my car will more or less be living on the ring, I might as well spring for them at the outset...

And dont believe the top speed figures published in the car mags. The diesels are probably 10mph faster than stated.
This goes for the Audi and VW ones anyway.

Guys,
I dont want to sound like an old fart here but these races are anything but. Sure a little fun here and there with another car is OK provided the way is clear but there is no way you can call it racing, especially when you dont really know what frame of mind the other driver is in...

Most of the M3s are debadged here so you really have to look closely at the E36s especially the saloons. The E30 and E46 are hard to miss though, although I saw an E46 badged as a 320 Ci!

Yes diesels do have great torque. And they are getting faster. I really hate it when I am cruising along at 6500rpm in top, concentrating on staying off the rev limiter and a VW, Audi, or BMW diesel just cruises by.
A demonstration of their torque is when we have to drop down to say 180...
Neuter. I dont want to think of a girl with a name like Willy, the connotations are just too bizarre! My buddy had an old Alpine A110 which he called Fifi like a little French poodle or something. Thing about the Clio is that it just doesnt look macho enough to hold its own if given a poofy...

Most any new tyre will feel a bit squirmy for a while, especially if your last set was fairly well worn. This is due to the extra rubber in the tread.
The wet weather improvement is also due to the extra tread depth. As your tyre wears down, wet weather performance gets worse and dry...

Mine hits the limiter at 220km/hr and 6500 rpm. It would definitely go a bit quicker without the limiter as it pulls strongly to that point. Id post a photo of it doing so if I only knew how.
If anyone could instruct me Id be most grateful.
It is a bit frustrating on the autobahn as all...
