I think they can make you get the car fixed and redo the MOT (not sure how this works for new cars tho 3< years old?) Its not illegal to have a de-cat.

From what ive heard they have to prove the mod made the fault, if they cant they cant refuse the waranty claim. Will be interesting to read the replies from ppl that actually work at Renault and other dealers.

Just a quick question for anyone who works at Renault or knows about warranties etc. Say I had a chip fitted to my car and I take it in for a running problem (unrelated to chip) could they just null the whole warranty on the engine if they found it, or could they only null it if I came in with...

I had the same problem, car wouldnt start at all with either key so had to get R sport chipped removed before it went back to dealers. Its a right pain in the arse!

Do you have to remove the shield to fit the de-cat?

Is that not covered under warrenty?
