I have an extreme, the original special edition, and therefore, the best.

Well..its too near to 5:30 for me to go into it but if you find a good guy you can get upto 20% gain from a modified head..but if its goes wrong you can have less power..or bad tractability. Its a risk take and you cant expect an x amount of gain.

Well it does what it says on the tin son! The reason for change is maybe the willy engine is considered unsafe, in terms of if the tensioner goes the valves will hit the pistons..and you know the rest. Erm..my golf one cost just over £100 to be replaced and fitted..theyre only like £30 though...
all for a 0%-3% increase, wahoo!
Back in the good old days whackin on some k&n to your carbed car was the right thing to do, now days as CB1A rightly says manufactures do little wrong when it comes to filters, its not worth the bother of £200+ for a cone filter (only one which will give you...
I cant stand the pre facelift interior, almost as bad as the mk1 clios and Renault 19s. Id save that big extra for a mk2, they look a bit smarter and more upmarket IMO.

I would get charged much more than that from my bodyshop, but then i know where the money goes. Unless you know they do a top quality job then find somewhere else.

From a safety point of view the whole wheel must of taken a lot of stress in the impact, its worth taking it to an alloy refurbisher to check the wheel is running true still. Otherwise i guess it might be possible to chop off that bit and then smooth it back with a refurb but this could cost a...
You can get a Mazda Eunos with about 60-70k on the clock for just over £2k and a UK MX-5 with higher mileage for about £3k. Theyre reliable, and a hoot to drive. Blokes may think youre gay, but women will love you and youll get both arms tanned in the summer. Also plenty of tuning parts...
hmm..i find it a bit naiive to pin performance hopes on an airfilter, but whatever you say!
jp-- i forgot about k-tecs titanium exhaust, extra benefit of a lot less weight. Id probably get that as i hate heavyweight cars!

Mike i dont see the point in you getting a filter, with no cat, you wont hear it anyway. Though to be honest i wouldnt get the de-cat, i like loud exhausts but not too loud on a 4 cyl!

I know, but 3bhp from an off the shelf isnt worth shouting about either! So unless you go from the manifold, stick to what looks/sounds nice..as youve already mentioned.

Bumchums!
I would go to somewhere like Hayward & Scott, Blueflame etc. and ask them to do it. Then you have an exhaust exactly how you want it to look, sound and you might get a small improvement performance wise also. It costs a bit more than off the shelf systems (£300ish) but seeing the...
