Yeah I apprecaite what you're saying, but in my years on here and the years I've owned xenons I think that to state "They fail easily" is misleading.
As you say, in your experience they have failed, this doesn't make it the norm though ;)
He's referring to the auto-leveller on the rear beam. That does both headlights dependant on the rear loading.
I think this is unrelated as it's just your one headlight that is over-adjusting itself.
Sorry but that's wrong. They don't fail easily, if you're buying £20 xenon lamps then they're bound to fail.
It's an easy straight forward swap as said, I had them on my 1.2 for years and wouldn't go back.
Yeah they do, but I'd never buy a non-descript xenon lamp.
Trust me, a £20 xenon bulb isn't worth the hassle. As the saying goes 'you buy cheap, you buy twice'. ;)
£140 will have probably been for two, I'm sure they're about £70 + VAT each from Renault.
They often come up on eBay, and some online places sell them. I'll have a look in a minute.

182 turbo's seem to go for above what a standard 182 would but they never, ever recoup what has been spent on the conversion.
I think coilovers, brake kits and mild mods will never add any real value to the car.
Adding an owner usually devalues the car anyway...
Well if the EML is on you may need to change the pre cat O2 as it will have been polluted by the poor running. Mine was and I changed it before fitting the new MAP.
EML is the engine management warning light on the dash yeah.
Is the sensor new - is it known to be working?
I replaced mine and had no issues what so ever.
Do you have the EML on, I know when my MAP played up it ran rich, which ultimately affected my pre cat O2 sensor.
I think people are unlikely to have opted for a custom remap after only one modification, most people will do a whole host of mods before getting it mapped and only then will have RR figures.
