seen it in my dads focus only last week, keep unit, write a letter of claim to manufacturer as being there goods are not fit for purpose sold, i actually work for the manufacturers insurers so limited with what can say but can give you a few pointers!

having a think, if you do want it to look like a 172 and your happy to spend you £££ just say get bump strips colour coded, 1.4 badge painted silver and pick up a set of 172/182 alloys but honestly wouldnt do more than that
i would go for a 1.4 16v, used to have one on a 52 plate, maybe new wheels and dont waste your time with trying to fake it as a 172/182, keep your money as you wont recoup it when you sell and keep the cash aside for when you can get faster, too many really badly done up clios in the brighton...
egg just quoted me.......
normal 197 £472.50 plus £250 excess
and here is the confusing bit...
r27 £449.40 with £150 excess
both quotes based on 7 years protected ncd, no voluntary excess, no legal expenses, car parked on driveway, 3 points for speeding and no other drivers
really...
