The mk2 has a fold in the middle, the mk1 doesnt, and you can only get it from a mk1 172, and i think it was only up to a certain build date they had them.

On a serious note the geometry and everything will be out, it is an idea to maybe to take it to a motorsport preparer to sort everything out, otherwise things will break and aarons right, it wont handle that well.

Well prima do a look a like one, not an exact replica, its not a wide body. There is some kit maker in europe who does one, theres been posts about it.

If you got these for the road you must be stupid or very rich. Yoko do indeed supply road legal ones for slightly cheaper, though its more of a compromise for track, which i think is pointless. Think they were an option on Lotus Exgies and the like

Hard loading means theyre all over the place, the brace keeps them at equal distance at all times. However its not always a good thing which is why i dont bother with them. You said why not weld it all, which presents your intent is to stiffen up the car..which i then said wasnt...
