Agree 100% Deb, maybe he asked and maybe he was told it had an alarm...either way this is all speculation and we're getting away from the OP's point... :)
Insurance policies are based vastly on assumptions. Admittedly it's down to the policy holder to confirm or deny these but away from this forum how many 182 owners would know where to look for an alarm? ;)
I'm not sure which company/companies you are referring to Deb but in my experience I...
Ok, ok lets put it another way...
The OP bought what he believed to be a UK 182. He insured it as such and if he was asked about the alarm at any stage by the insurance company he would (I presume) have said it has one.
Now it turns out that it's an import it may not have one. That's the...
Bull? Sorry Deb but have you ever tried insuring a Grp16 car in the UK without a Cat 1 alarm? A 1.6 isn't the same as an RS Clio :)
Insurance companies will presume the 182 has the standard Cat 1 alarm fitted unless told otherwise, which they wont be if the owner isn't even aware of it.
Sorry should have said, no underseat capacity due to storage tray and CD changer.
Although guess i could lose the tray if needed....
What is an Alpine swd 1600 Matt?
Ok so I have a decent HU and all four door speakers are upgrade to a decent level to get away from the shitty paper ones fitted as standard.
I can't afford to lose boot space but I crave bass! lol! How/where can I add bass staying away from my boot?
:)
Brake pedal switch is a switch mounted just above the brake pedal under the dash, not a sensor as such but if mis-aligned it will throw up the three fault LED's you list.
Engine management wont have anything to do with CAT back system as there's no sensors after the CAT. It could be anything...
Engine management could be a separate issue then, but like I said i believe the other three are linked to the common problem of brake pedal switch.
Do they come on after long periods of driving or at motorway speeds etc?
lol, calm down guys ;)
Although the location of the air filter is somewhat suspect as I guess it will get dirty very very quickly unless it's behind the arch liner in which case it will surely be starved of free air?
Strange one that then Marie, could be an ECU issue in which case I'd get it to Renault ASAP with the warranty looming! :) Does the car behave differently when they're lit, bearing in mind you'll lose ABS, ESP and traction/cruise control.
Yes I had it happen on my 1.2 and it was about that price to replace :dapprove: Solder if you're capable but I took the key apart and it was tiny so didn't bother!
Service, ABS and ESP lights are the symptoms of the brake pedal switch as already mentioned. Mine was sorted under warranty but it can be done DIY if you prefer?
As for the "engine shaped" light, is this coming on at the same time as the others or independently?
