Well theres not a huge difference, the BMW has 231bhp and 300nm of torque. Thats clearly more but the 0-60 of the BMW is no better. Obviously mid range it would have the clio beaten but in the real world he could of been in 6th gear while dror172 might of been in 4th.

You forget laws of physics, the circumference of 15s are less than 17s, so intial accleration is going to be better. You just mean grip, which obviously going to be better. The main difference would be in the quality of your tyres. 15s on track would be a good choice for many a reason IMO...

Im not suprised you beat it, theyre not that powerful, plus it was also old and was a great car at the time but brakes and that must show its age. Id kill for that 5 cylinder warble though!

I dont think youll have any problems. Youll need to get uprated dampers/shocks if you go that low though. Im not sure if your car is a fitment but spax to good value coilovers (RSX?) which obviously include shocks. -Rob FIrst post of 2003 :)
