as Iain says, the 182s are Silver whereas the 172s have a carbon effect weave in them mate.

just wrap loads of electrical insulation tape round it making sure the bare cable cannot touch anyother bare cables and secure the loom back in place. Unless you want to persue it thru warranty i really wouldnt bother replacing it. This does however sound like the cause of your problem as the...

remove rear light and disconnect the bulb holder assembly. Check for signs of water/corrosion or rust. Spray liberally with WD-40 and leave to penetrate. Refit the lights to car and test.

im thinking about this also, as I know the 182s will probably de-value when the new Clio is launched this Autumn. Only problem is mine is financed thru a company not Renault which complicates things slightly! :oops:

true, but lower models dont have the reno alarm mate. I could be wrong tho im just going on whats in mine and the other few Clios ive been in.

dont think Scorpion unit is the standard one mate. Try getting this and the other immob disconnected as it sounds as tho its going faulty and will eventually fail totally.

the flashing red led next to the gear stick is NOT standard on the Mk2 Ph2 mate, only the one on the dash display is Reno fitted. I suspect that its had an aftermarket immob/alarm fitted and this is the cause of the problem. Is it a UK car?
