Cars from outside the EU dont get the extra warranty as it applies only to cars sourced within the EU. Also the original warranty starts from 1st registration in that country, not when it turns up in the UK at the supermarket. The best bet is to ensure that the car is EU sourced...
Yes it is a wait. However other manufacturers have cars sitting in airfields that can supply them quicker, but do you really want that ? Look at some manufacturers offers and youll see terms and conditions such as applies to cars built before 15.1.03 - how old do you want your new car !
They are lovely, though never sold well in the UK, there were only about 100 of them but 6 years on they still look fantastic. If he did pay £18000 their price is holding up very well too.
