The one thing I've noticed with racing blue is when it's just been washed and catches the late afternoon sun it has a reddish tinge to it - anyone else ever noticed this??? I love it. Just a pity Renault paint is so thin - got even more stone chips on the car after last weekend :(
Anyway great day out, lovely and sunny, apart from the cold. All I can say I blame my exhaust. For 20 quid an absolute bargain!
Small Vid of track prepped V6:
I sold my Mini pretty quickly, so I got offered the loan of a Cinquecento for a couple of weeks whilst waiting for my 182 to be delivered to the Renault dealer.
They're hilarious fun to drive, but be prepared for being overtaken by chavs in tatty mk3 Escorts on 30mph roads, people pulling out...
167bhp, around 7.5 - 8 secs. to 60, does around 30mpg maybe a mile or two less? It's the same chassis, suspension set up and engine, apart from gearbox as the 306 GTi-6. All for about half the price.
You can get a good one for 1200 or a very good one 1600 - I had one for a couple of months whilst debating whether to get rid of my 182.
Paid 1650 for it, sold it for 1650. Recommend them.

But surely you'd have until your current policy is up, until your renewal goes up to £2k - that's an obscene amount??? How much was your current policy?? I take it you're fairly young?
I think you might be lucky and it won't be too much to put right. Can't believe when i saw your earlier post saying how you'd gone in to a lamp post. Hope it get's sorted, cheaply for you.
Ironic too that your avatar is of part of the car that got stuffed.
The 182 (i'm not sure about the 172) came with the standard clio handbook, plus a separate handbook covering the 182 model. - This i think will prove hard to find, although I am sure you can get one from a renault dealership.
Now that was a rare car - there wasn't many around even when they were new. Years ago, I used to own a 1987 ph.2 black 11 turbo (same car but with a hatch). I loved it, car was in fantastic condition, pity the engine wasn't :(
I ran two cars for a couple months, a month or two back. I'm with direct line and they insured my other car with full no claims discount, ie matching the no claims bonus I already had on the 182.
Direct Line are cheap and the car was a Xsara VTS, which is the same insurance group as the 182...
Have driven one on two occasions. On both occasions - felt it was bland.
When getting back into my 182 on both occasions after said test drives - felt the 182 was hardcore. Enoough said. Save your money.
