tis why I got myself a drive done before I got my Clio 2 years ago. Cost a good £1500 but was worth every penny. I know you had no choice where your car was left in this situation but Im always SO careful where i leave it.
My 1.2 16v settle on about 32-33. Now i reckon thats sh*t but Lee at Reno Romford tells me thats normal. He gets 40 from a diesal. I haveheard ppl on here talk about getting more than me from a 172 so Ill be watching this post with interest.
Judging from the desciption its now in its third colour guise. Been featured once already in flip and once silver. So I have just found out where £4-8k went depending on where he went and how good a job they do.
If it didnt have the lights or the rear spoiler I could give it a little more...
Dynamat will only stop the rattle if you are fotunate enough to find the rattle and place the dynamat in that exact position.
I have my boot floor pan, my boot lid, my rear arches and he sides of my boot and the front doors (on the metal panels not the plastic) covered in Dynamat and dynamat...
Wont stop the door cards rattling mate. I take it you have removed the door cards at some point?
Make sure you got all the stupid screws along the bottom of the door in and start punching random areas of the door where u believe there to be a clip. Works for me.
AS said above welcome to the world of Renault. The world where they use stupid screw types that mean you have to go and buy your first star headed screwdriver, the world where they use too many stupid clips and screws in stupid places that you wouldnt even think theyd use, and where the clips...
There is no such thing as tuning a 1.2 IMHO. Not unless you are willing to throw thousands of pounds at it. And it will still be slow as f**k. I drive a 1.2 currently and I believe you are best off leaving it until you can afford a bigger can and the insurance to match. It just aint worth it.
There you go. Someone will know someone. And I know I couldnt be arsed to remove all the dash and that to get to the wires. Think of the extra rattling you know youll get afterward!
Good luck with it anyway whatever you do!
TBH (and some ppl might not like this) in this situation I probably couldnt be arsed to sort it out and get an MOT done off someone willing to pass it. As long as rest of car is roadworthy of course.
Just cos its an arsey problem to sort out.
Yeah I was looking out for screen H/Us like what _KDF descirbed they can come in at a grand! I was offered one for £600 that was worth £1200 but i didnt have the guts to tell the girlfriend I had spent all that money on another H/U - plus it aint removable or a face off.
Boy racer/ Car enthusiast. Different to tell the difference really aint it.
All in all the cop has been quite helpful as now ppl in that area will know to be wary of cops testing emissions in the future.
The policeman said nothing wrong. He didnt say De-Cat was illegal, but that any car after a certain date (i am guessing 93 k plate) was fitted with a cat to comply with emission regulations (i think!).
Therefore if you de-cat it there is a high possibility it will fail an emissions test...
