I phoned up Directline last night to find out if they would charge me more to add a stainless steel exhaust to my policy, only to be told that they do not allow modifications to cars unless you are 25 or over, WTF?? I would have thought they would atleast allow it at an extra cost?, Is there...
Im getting fed up of having my 172 standard now, and am also fed up of the standard Reno exhaust system, you know, the one with the dodgy rattles, clicks and bangs when cooling down etc, and the one that just basically gives an unhealthy sound to the car. So I want to go Stainless (as it were)...
I have got some pretty major problems with my import 172 that need to be sorted out, problem is that i havent sorted out my warranty yet and next month the car is one year old. I have tried searching the posts (because i know this has been asked many times before) but can someone who has already...
Just phoned Renault Insurance who have confirmed that I have 5 years no claims which I can use wherever I want, so I have managed to get a quote from DirectLine Fully Comp for £756.00 (22, M, 3 pnts SP30, MK2 172)!!
Its time to renew my insurance, im 22, M, 3 yrs ncb, and 3 points for an SP30, on a MK2 172 valued at £10K, and i cant get a quote under £1,100? Does that sound right?
For a set of 17" Kahn RS-S, Toyo Proxes, 30mm Eibach Pro Kit, locking nuts, fitting, £1320.00 inc vat? Seems pricey to me? Anyone know where i can get a better deal?
Cheers,
Gaz

I took my MK2 172 into Renault the other day to have a few bits and pieces fixed, whilst i was there i asked them to check the nsf wheel because of metal on metal scraping noises, they checked this and said that they couldnt find anything out of order and that they were however aware of a known...
And finally almost got the dvd and navigation into the 172 :

Now, I just need to remove the dash to fit the speedo connection to the back of the dials, and replace the std cd changer with my own. Thatll be another day...
can anyone tell me how to remove the changer from under the 172 seat (mk2 if it makes any difference) as i need to put my own in there this week.
Cheers,
Gaz
According to the book one at 6,000 and one at 9,000, manager in work had the 6,000 not so long ago but am sure I have heard that they have stopped doing them now. Can someone who works for Renault confirm this? Also, when is the first service for a MK2 172? 12,000? and how far over can you go...
Right, ive been working in London for the last four months and have had the vehicles documents sent away etc to have the private plate put on the car, all the docs are now back. So I want to send them off to Renault to get the warranty all sorted out. I know this has been done a million times...
The car is now on 5,300 miles and the exhaust system is blowing like a mad donkey. Are Renault going to sort it or going to fob me off? What exeperiences have you had with this?
I am thinking of getting some shiny new 17"s for my new Iceberg MK2 172. Wondered what people thought the best suited wheel for the car would be? I am quite inclined to a set of Dare V2s (as on the KTEC Mk2 in 18").
Any input much appreciated. ;)

I want to post some pics from time to time and can never find any free decent places to store pics anymore, used to be quite a few, freeservers etc, does anyone know any?
When is the next issue of PGTI out?
I have : Jan/Feb and March/April, so presumably its some date in May?
Great magazine by the way, no mutts, just cars. (which is what its all about).
I have recently been driving up and down from London to North Wales and tend to find after I have been driving the car for a good couple of hundred miles on the motorway, varying speed from 60 accelerating to 70, 80 over and over, the car seems to become incredibly torquey. Not sure if is my...
Has anyone used Weybridge Renault dealership for work? I have a long outstanding list of work to be done on my 172, and am currently working in London, thinking of taking the car there?
Sometimes when taking a right hand turn (or just turning right) i can hear quite a loud scraping noise (sounds like metal against metal) coming from the right hand side of the car (brand new 2.5K mile Mk2 172). Anyone got any ideas as to what it could be? (It sounds as if it is something like...
Seriously considering purchasing one of these, wondering if anyone has one? or has any opinions/experience of them?
